Yes it was!Naughty
The original merc sprinter had to have the diesel pump derated so that it wouldn't exceed 185kmh about 115mph.Like many I guess, I have witnessed White Van Men doing 100-110 with ease in the outside lane of The M4, mainly heading North after Bristol. Merc Spinters & Ford Transits,
Yes I'll wait to see what the police come back to me with. All joking apart if your mh has been cloned then it will have to be reported to the relevant authorities. My old van was cloned a few years back. I received a PCN from Islington Council, the vehicle in the picture was a scaffolding lorry. I had to contact the council and they wanted pictures of my mh and my log book. I also had to notify the police and Dvla. I sorted it eventually but its just the hassle I could have done without.
If I remember correctly It was a scanned picture on a piece of paper as part of the penalty notice. It wasn't an actual photo .It used to be to get a photo you had to accept the ticket and take the matter to court.
Things change so this may be old info.
At 138mph there's no possible way it would be upheld.
Nope. 190bhp car would struggle to get near that speed. A van has twice the frontal area and far worse Cd.A friend of a friend in a Sprinter allegedly reached 140mph on a “new” motorway out of hours, and his nerve gave way before the van did!
Is the plate yours, cloned? Or is it a bad read? Lots of cameras take images in the IR range so they work better in low light. Water gets into the gap between the clear plastic at the front and the reflective backing, especially around screw holes. It looks fine to our eyes, but to the camera, there are dark areas that sometimes makes letters look like others.I have today received the "photographic evidence" of my motorhome doing 138mph.
The vehicle in the picture is a Honda Civic.
I have emailed the issuing authority with a picture of my motorhome and a picture of my V5.
I have suggested that perhaps they should check with DVLA to confirm that my reg is a motorhome and not a Civic.
I have also informed them that as I have no idea who the Civic belongs to then I am unable to help them with the identity of the driver as they have requested.
It does look like my reg but I think what they have read as a 5 is in fact an S.Is the plate yours, cloned? Or is it a bad read? Did you also include an invoice for your wasted time?I have today received the "photographic evidence" of my motorhome doing 138mph.

I would advise them of what you have done & that it brings up the correct vehicle & include another invoice for your time. even better if you are vat registered as you can include that. then when they do not pay put the vat man on to them along with a claim in the small claims court . anything to cause them inconvenience, expense & aggravation & possibly get the muppets they employ to actually look at what they are doing. As I always say "you cannot possibly **** them about too much"It does look like my reg but I think what they have read as a 5 is in fact an S.
I've put the reg with an S instead of a 5 into the DVLA vehicle checker and it does bring up a Civic for that reg.
I'll see what they get back to me with.
I am not going to read down for the answer but I think about 98mphAs above please.
My answer might surprise you
I got a picture when I challenged, successfully, a speeding charge in my Range Rover Vogue a few years back.It used to be to get a photo you had to accept the ticket and take the matter to court.

PS. I accidentally while keeping up with traffic, did 86 and rising in my 2007 120bhp Ducato PVC coming back from Malvern the other day.I got a picture when I challenged, successfully, a speeding charge in my Range Rover Vogue a few years back.
Has it changed?
I got a similar speed from my old 2007 120bhp PVC on a deserted motorway in the middle of Spain. Hadn't seen a car in either direction for about 10 minutes, so got bored. Scared the crap out of me when the speed warning bong chimed, which I'd set as high as it would go when I'd got the van and never heard before... In reality, I was on 15" tyres, so my true speed was probably 10mph less than the speedo was claiming.PS. My G/Maps, tells me an accurate speed, I thought?I got a similar speed from my old 2007 120bhp PVC on a deserted motorway in the middle of Spain. Technically he has, NIP must be revieved within 14 days...?In the mean time the Honda civic is thinking he’s got away with it when he was flashed because he hasn’t heard anything yet….
I think they might struggle to give an NIP to the Civic owner as its some time now since the alleged offence. It does look like my reg but I think what they have read as a 5 is in fact an S.
