Highlands End Campsite & Jurassic Fields Festival Dorset Meet 7-11 July 2022

They said it was battery , didn't look at charger seat off battery out took it away. Different lad turned up today , not in the best of moods . Battery not the same size so would not fit. After loads of fiddling it is now in, the van had a clean whilst waiting having fresh caught fish on the beach tonight bbq.will not know if its the charger until on ehu. Battery £90.00 Halfords and now waiting for bill via email
So that was hab battery or cab one ? I assumed hab as it was the conversion battery charger. I hope they put in a decent suitable one.

Oh crumbs, never mind, could be worse, I am sitting at home for ambulance ! ☹️ Getting upper left chest pains, not constant, like a toothache coming over in a wave . Phoned 111 just before 5pm and they said ambulance to check what s going on. I bet they just take me in, might as well have gone myself.

Morning
First Riverbankannie I hope you're ok. That sounds a bit scary. Thinking of you.
Nanniemate sorry to read you've got battery problems. Its not fun when things go wrong.
Wombles Karen and Alan thanks for organising Highlands End for us we really enjoyed it.
We've stopped off at a site near Cheltenham to break the journey. Home later today.

Unfortunately A&E overwhelmed, I was outside in ambulance until just after midnight, that wasn’t so bad as could lie down on trolley and close my eyes. Paramedics I had have had 9 and 14 hour waits outside. After that have been sitting in small plastic joined up chairs like airport in rows. Not yet seen a dr but bloods and obs have been taken. We got a cup of tea at 4 am but nothing this morning. Pains still ongoing. It’s 8:30 am now.

That is truly shocking. The NHS is broken.

Get well soon ❤️

Blimey Annie that sounds dreadful. Hope you get seen soon. Are you at a hospital local to you? Or were you still in your van?

I am in one of the 2 Bristol hospitals, Southmead. Still on hard chairs but they are keeping me in but cannot promise a bed. Not sure that I can stay on the chairs another night. One poor lady pregnant been in longer than me on these chairs. She just fell asleep this morning, on the floor, right out, and got told off for not hearing her name - well I called you twice said the rather unpleasant HCA. These are the chairs, they have metal arms so cannot lie out on them, not that there are any spare today. I just want to be horizontal so floor looking more and more appealing but my hips won’t take it!

Sounds like if you weren't ill when you went in they're going to make sure you are before you leave. We're home now. Hope you're in a bed.

Hope it's nothing serious Annie, take care, Ginnie x

Riverbankannie we are sorry to hear that you are unwell again - fingers crossed that they get it sorted this time without any more of an ordeal & you finally get some proper rest tonight. Please let us know how you are when you can as sure everyone here, like us, are thinking of you & wishing you well.

I am home! Back at 6pm this evening. Never got a bed or a trolley or even a comfy chair. I was just about at the end of my manageable staying upright time, beginning to feel light headed and very wobbly. Pain in bum and swollen ankles from sitting so long. 25 hours from 111calling ambulance for me, 18 hours on those chairs with only one cup of tea and one sandwich at 4am. The patients in the cubicles got breakfast but nothing offered to us on the chairs - the pregnant lady (new cardiac issues causing blackouts) still there on chairs when I left, an 86 year also cardiac but with dementia too, a chap in his 40s with severe nose bleeding, an chap in his 50s with angina, a lady who had fallen and fractured wrist and was also wheelchair bound was in a simple push along wheelchair from 7pm last night, but was given a more comfy chair in a cubicle, before I left, and at least 3 others.

John came in around 1pm and so I got a Costa coffee and a tea for pregnant lady.

Blood tests did not indicate a further heart attack so pains put down to stable angina (new diagnosis). I have a prescription for extra medication to get tomorrow, the chest pains stopped of their own accord around 2pm.

Just before I left the power went out and the hospital declared a major incident for A&E, this is one of those private finance initiative hospitals and the stories we know about it from friends who worked on the building!

Thanks to everyone for good wishes. :h:

Glad your home (y)

Have started negotiations for a Fun Meet again next year - will post again once details finalised but looking promising so far! Know that some of you are keen to get this sorted knowing how busy the campsite was this time but the website bookings for next summer haven't opened yet so we have time :)

Riverbankannie just popped in here to see if the flurry of posts were about next year & saw what you'd been through, what a nightmare for you and all the other patients & staff too.

Glad you're home & hope the new meds do their stuff.
