She devoted herself so much, not just to the Commonwealth, but also the world who had the greatest respect for her. I consider myself lucky to have lived through part of her Reign. I have doubts that future generations will see the likes of her again.
Sadly the end of a long life of duty and service to us. Sadly the end of an era. What a life she has led, the people she has met and events she has witnessed.
May she be reunited with her strength and stay Philip.
RIP ma’am.
RIP Ma'am, there will never be another , with the same sense of duty as you! Thank you Ma'am for those 70 years you kept this Country on the right path!
We both stood for the playing of the national anthem, both choked by tears. God bless you Ma’am and thank you from a Nation that didn’t always realise what you personally sacrificed for us all. May you RIP
I don't know why but I've been crying my eyes out here, I think it was due to earlier seeing the close up photos of Andrew, Edward, Sophie and William arriving in the car which showed them not as royals but as a family in distress.
I suspect she had already passed away before they got there otherwise I think they'd have taken helicopters from the airport rather than a long car drive, so sad.
