I don't know why but I've been crying my eyes out here, I think it was due to earlier seeing the close up photos of Andrew, Edward, Sophie and William arriving in the car which showed them not as royals but as a family in distress.

I suspect she had already passed away before they got there otherwise I think they'd have taken helicopters from the airport rather than a long car drive, so sad.
I think that's a given. Family needed to be allowed to assemble first to start Operation Unicorn.
 
A sad day for sure

A story I read about her sense of humour was she was out riding at Balmoral with a security officer when they came across an American couple out walking

The Americans asked if the castle was where the Queen lived , she replied, yes I think it is

They played God Save The Queen on LBC when it was announced then listened to Andrew Marr not even being able to say she had died without him breaking down.
Charles has big shoes to fill!
 
I would like to add that this is very sad news and a sad day for the United Kingdom and the commonwealth.

Our late Queen has led with such passion and dedication for 70 years. As she promised to do.

A truly great Monarch who is likely to never have an equal.

God bless her and look after her for us all.

And operation London Bridge. It’s all been laid out for years.
She was an old lady, who has survived well and I feel sorry for her family, as I would for any family in the same circumstances. No more, no less.
She was very wealthy, had better health care than many. To me she was a woman of wealth and privalidge.

RIP beautiful Queen. Thank you for always putting your country and you people first despite any personal troubles . . May you find peace and feel the love of your loyal subjects.

Don’t think they could use helicopters because of bad weather issues.
