Gareth & Phil have fun in Spain 2025.

I'm gutted - I didn't see this thread from the start and have just had a look back and realised we were on the campsite last week that was only a few minutes walk from that lovely restaurant in El Campello that you visited in January:crying1:!

Just think how easy it would be to follow their restaurant trail if Gareth used Polar Steps to record their visits. It would be a simple matter of checking the Polar Steps map to find the details of the nearest restaurant they’ve visited to your current location.

What say you Mr porky? 😎

Unfortunately this thread ends this weekend.
Sorry.
I will do an update on the snags or missing items situation from premuim and morelo.
🙂

I wonder if Polar Steps is the go to app on this site? I think it would help to put some context on the posts.

I'm new to the game and my first 'raid' to the Spanish Peninsula was recorded using Polar Steps. I love it and even paid for the photo book that they offer. Excellent quality and a great book for looking back on our trip. I will be using it again for our upcoming 'Ireland Raid'

I always forget to, either start it running or forget I'm running it and don't fill it in daily and then forget to stop it.

I'll try harder next time.

Am a great fan of pudding wines, but find it hard to know what to do after only one glass, cork it and keep in the fridge? Ok in a cupboard? Not too bad if it is a small bottle, but have been gifted a couple of full sized ones, and I just can't get up the stairs to bed after one of those 😉
Do enjoy the food photos, apart from the oysters, just can't like them.

24 snags within 3 months of ownership.
Oh dear
However I do like the beast, it's a great motorhome which is so easy to drive.
I'm confident that we shall get a positive outcome from premuim motorhomes.

Is this the usual though for new builds, it's a lot of electrical and software issues, but also silly hardware stuff as well
I honestly cannot believe the sheer number of faults! I’ve only ever owned a 2012 Swift/Bessacarr which had 4 faults in the 10 years and the current 2022 Adria which has had 3 faults too in the time from new.

Phil is freaking out the locals as he's sat without his coat on as the sun is shining.

This made me chuckle with fond memories. When we first moved to live in Los Alcazares in November 2010 our son joined us for Christmas. So on the day we strolled down the prom for a drink before our traditional lunch. Sharon was sat outside in a light weight dress enjoying the sun. A few of our neighbouring locals, some wearing fur coats, couldn’t stop looking over at us 😜 we finally worked out is was our lightweight dress sense. We weren’t so unclimatised the next winter. 😊

I get your points completely, especially if your vehicle is called a Palace and costs multiple 100’s of 1000’s of GBP! 🤣

The thing I took from Gareth’s post is pragmatism despite the not insignificant list of ‘niggles’, they have overall delight with their new purchase, which at the end of the day, is fantastic! 🫶

I also think if he needs to fix the step many more times, he’s gunna lose his 💩…. 😉

It's great that they enjoy the van and their trip.

Regarding the snags my 💩 would have been lost a long time ago I suspect.

It reminds me of the saying that the pleasure derived from a boat is inversely proportional to its size/length/price. I think motorhomes work a little like that for me - I get pretty unhappy if I spend premium prices on things that then behave in a less than premium way.

Well boys, it’s our last night in France, so we have eaten out at a lovely restaurant in Montrueil-Sur-Mer (it’s nowhere near the sea BTW) - Les Remparts. There was a St Patrick’s Day Menu.

I thought I’d take a leaf out of your book Gareth, and take photos.

It started well ….

A charcuterie et fromage sharing board - delicious.

It went downhill from there (my photographic efforts, not the food …

Just before this was taken, Cliff had the steak hache cheval with bacon, egg and chips, and I had the Guinness Pie with fried potatoes and salad - delicious.

Before this was taken we had the house red …

Too full for dessert, we had two coffees.

The background music was Irish, only missing The Fields of Athenry and Paddy McGinty’s Goat.

A lovely final evening in France.

I’ve decided to leave the food porn photos to you, the expert Gareth!

Have a lovely last few days, and a safe trip home. I'm sure the van will get sorted, the most important thing is that you’ve had a lovely time and we’ve all enjoyed it vicariously through your thread.

I'm sure if kept fridged it's fine for 2 weeks.

Not sure, i have a polar steps account and feel its an effort to go & update/upload stuff on there plus posting on fun.
As the thread covers such a wide variety of topics its hard to pick out the bits im interested in - the towns/stopover details/bars & restaurants - no idea whether theres an easy answer. Really enjoyed the travels, thanks!
