Gareth & Phil have fun in Spain 2025.

After a supermarket shop we have moved onto Cartagena.
Parked up at La ramble shopping centre, hopefully no issues.
Going to have a walk into town for lunch and a little sightseeing, we have been here before, so we will see if we decide to do the roman bits again or just meander aimlessly 😃

If you have not done it before City Hall is well worth a visit but a bit expensive €1 for a guided tour.

A few nibbles to keep us going.

Visited Cartegena last year when we took the Spanish exchange students to Murcia. Had a lovely relaxed vibe … I hope up return in next couple of years when we retire and do a longer Spain/Portugal trip.

We are now in Playa de los Cocedores.
It's basically a beach car park with no facilities but bins and it's perfect.
Sat on the beach enjoying the glorious sunshine we may stay for a few days.

Just caught up love the food porn 😉
The smaller bottle is a desert wine you can buy in morrisons
Not that one, but decided to have a glass with our birthday meal at home. Had it so long it was a trouble getting the cork out and had to decant.
You have to watch that stuff though, lost the use of my legs during the night 🤣 fortunately had made it down our steep stairs first. perhaps i should have found a bottle to save the rest, John doesn't like it.
Am really concerned about drinking the other 2 bottles, that I still have, no one else likes pudding wine 😢

I
He’s parked next to me! It’s still on the roof. Dare not go out in case I miss the action when it comes off! 🤪🤣

Or, more frighteningly, he may ask me to help getting it off! 😳

I actually assisted in getting this off the roof yesterday. There were four of us to receive the hull, it’s incredibly light and just so rigid. Carbon fibre at its finest! ✔️

A nice group of Belgians, who kindly switched from Flemish to French so I could both understand the instructions and join in the conversation, at least to a basic level! 🤪

A great cycle out to the market, yet I found the only good things to buy was tomatoes and lemons, mercadona supermarket helped and after cycling back and dropping the goody's back at the camper we cycled the other way diwn the coast to witness huge amounts of motorhomes but not much else.
We decided on an Italian restaurant for lunch, good but not amazing but very happy.
We are now off to the China shop yippee living the dream 😆😆.

Haven't eaten there ourselves, but heard lots of good reports of the tapas restaurant next door to the Bella Vista campsite. Open for lunch only.

Osso buco with spaghetti? Different, but better with polenta in my humble opinion. Does look good though.
We didn't get a option, to be honest the pizzas on the next table looked better.
Oh well.

Looks lovely!

You can't beat a homemade pie.

But how did you manage to make pastry without getting flour all over your van?
(Or am I just a very messy baker?)😀
Half Scottish-Half Yorkshire. No waste, it would just be wrong.
I actually used every drop of pastry with the pastry leaves on top.
😁😁😁

Well we have managed to drag ourselves away from the free beach spot.
We washed the motorhome on route as I spotted a car wash with a truck sized bay, made light work of the grime and only cost €5.
I tried to get in at Vera but fully booked so took a chance on one that you cant book just turn up at in the village of Aqua Amarga and lucky us got a spot for the next 2 days, phils just done 1 load of washing, now on the second. It's a bit windy but might go for a cycle up along the coast to Carboneras. Fresh bread and maybe some meat pick up at the mercadona in Carboneras as the local village shop is a bit restricted.
