Garden Centres remain open (again )

Even before covid etc, could never see the fascination in walking around a garden centre, going for a coffee, or visiting a zoo. Just find I hard to believe that many people want to do it , is just because they cannot do it that they want to.

Come to Chester Zoo probbly one the best Zoo's in the world with the added bonus of beautiful gardens, what's not to like?

Not seen a small garden centres just relying on plants & pots around here.
They shouldn't be selling anything except plants ,bulbs, fertiliser ,pots etc, Rest should be sectioned off
Not fair at all . This is a time when “fair “ goes out the window but we need food shops open or we starve .
there are food shops & they should be selling only food the rest should be isolated or removed out the back
You would be surprised how many of the garden centres are “ family destinations “
& the parts that have nothing to do with plants should be shut.
However if your walking past the tv while buying food you shouldn’t be stopped buying the tv

You are out on "essential" only purpose. A new tv isn't one just food.
If you check the guidance further down you can travel (locally) to open areas for exercise, no definition of local though !

  • outdoor exercise. This should be done locally wherever possible, but you can travel a short distance within your area to do so if necessary (for example, to access an open space)

It doesn't say " In a vehicle " does it?
Just - and only to exercise - you CAN relocate by car.
That's my understanding of: -
mrskevenh & I are lucky in that we can exercise from our doorstep as the
No you can't .Nowhere does it say travel by vehicle.
It could be a boom spring for garden centre. With people off the centre will have plants for sale to early which people will buy and plant. Then a cold snap and they all die forcing them to buy more plants, yes could be a boom spring.
No it can't be as although they are open you cannot plant them in your garden as you are not allowed outside the house in Tier 4 & above..

"In tier 4 areas, you must not leave your home or be outside your home, except for specific purposes " That's your garden out then.

No No No my cyber friend! you forgot "Valentines day" the cosy hearts , the "I love you sweetheart", the saccarine messages of eternal love.:sicker::sicker::sicker:

And from an aged memory , that can't be bothered to Google it , isn't there something called "Candlemass" even before that?

It looks like some of the garden centres have decided to “ do the right thing “
The pressure seems to be growing for the government to review the “ essential “ retail list
