Do you have a special garage bike rack to use?

Can you show me some photos of how you all secure your bikes when in your rear garage of van? All ideas will be useful. Thanks

We thought of buying a bike rack but I think they’ll take up to much room, here’s ours packed for the off yesterday. We use ratchet straps through some metal eyes, don’t use bungee as your bikes will bounce about.

There are 2 I would recommend: 1. Fiamma garage slide pro. we have this as we have sufficient height for the handlebars to clear the garage door and would recommend it. 2. Thule VeloSlide rack. has an advantage that if there is a height issue this is the lowest the tyres can get to the floor. Both not cheap but really worth the cost in my view as you get get the bikes in and out, secure without the normal back issues! Lenny have you weighed your rear axel recently!

This is ours,it was in when we bought the van.

it’s a rubbish idea, takes up too much room when in use, I don’t use it and keep meaning to take it out.

I use one of these screwed to inside wall of garage and which holds the seat post of one bike and then use one of these to hold second bike to first bike and that’s all I use, no straps or anything never moves at all.

I bungee mine to the scooter. Scooter is secured with straps to some tie downs I mounted in the floor.

Much much tidier than Lenny HB ’s ;) ;)
Flipping cheek that's tidy, you want to see it after we have been away for a few weeks, couldn't even see the essential's in that garage, no washing machine, spare cassette, snow chains, ladder, Paddleboard etc.

We have 2 fiamma bike racks already so reluctant to buy a 3rd. Was hoping someone had modified theirs for their garage. I'm sure Alan will come up with something, he always does. (y)

I wanted an inside rack but didn't want to drill the floors/walls on my Apache 632
It's not the largest of garages and is compromised by the heater position, also only has decent access from 1 side.
I fitted a piece of ply (with unnecessary material removed to reduce weight) to the floor using the existing tie-down anchor bolts and then fitted a standard Fiamma rack to the ply using "T" nuts set into the underside of the ply.
Then just filled in the gaps using lightweight foam mats cut to shape.
I can get two 29er mountain bikes in quite comfortably.

Unfortunately I don’t have any decent pictures of the deathless, but I used square gutter to hold the wheels ( double sided tape to hold them to the floor ) , I turned the handlebars parallel to the bike & kept the bikes tight to the left & right

they Might be spare if you need them

Having looked through the thread and had to make a decision, we fitted the main part today drilling through the wall to the bedroom (4 small holes) and attached bike and that is one solid piece of kit. We bought it off amazon for £20 and the Thule extension, still to arrive, was about £30.
Well happy with this style of securing bikes in garage and the Thule extension may go on trips out with us as an extra lock to lock them together.

Thank you Shaun929
