This was the state of the filling neck thread on our current Burstner, hence the need to have an insert made.
Burstners solution was to cut the one piece floor around the tank, remove said tank, replace it with one just as bad as most are the same, then bond the floor back in🤔. I think not, so I had an insert made at my own cost, Simple’s 😂👍

Cut a hole in your floor. They must be mad. 🥴🥴🥴

In Burstners defence and to be balanced in their absence, they didn’t make the tank themselves, but they did fit it, and I have checked others, and it seems a common issue.
Easy to resolve👌

This works well on the waste pipe, I poke the hose end down the drain on a serviced pitch, then leave the grey waste open.
Just check your gauge every couple of days in case a big bit gets stuck and blocks it up.

Now there’s an idea….
First mock up of a windscreen Washer funnel with a universal mounting bracket for your A Class vans. Has a pipe holder that can attach to the washer bottle filler neck for storing the hose that comes from the bottom of the funnel. Just an initial idea. May test it on a few vans at Malvern in a couple of weeks. Any comments would be helpful especially regarding the mounting bracket.

Awesome, I love it, I use a small indoor watering can and spill screen wash all over my headlight, but that’s great👍

My concern is to make a mounting bracket that can be used in any position. I could make two. One for vertical surfaces, and one for horizontal surfaces, (or in fact 45deg) and you just choose which you want. If anyone is at the Malvern show and wants to experiment with it, I’ll bring a couple to test out.

Love your work. Ever thought of making a funnel for filling the AdBlu tank from one of those bottles you buy at petrol stations? I've tried using different sized funnels I've bought from B&Q but the spout is never long enough to open the valve in the AdBlu tank. Consequenttly I've got about 10L of AdBlu I can't use.

I don't think that would work on my Hymer as as when the bonnet is up the back edge of the bonnet is only just above the filler.
Sorry I can't do a photo I'm in Thailand until the end of the month.

Edit:
Speve or Stewart J should be able to do a photo.

There’s going to be lots of variables in vans, that’s for sure. I’m sure some A class vans have been well thought out and washer filling isn’t too much of a problem. We shall see over time what people need specifically for their vans. I can adapt and reshape things to work for different situations. The aim is to make life easier when filling your washers rather than it being a frustration, pouring half of your screen wash all over the floor, engine and electrics.
Hope your enjoying Thailand. PaulandChrissy 👍

Hi Everyone
I’ve been asked many times if I make my funnels for the German vans that have there filler behind a locker door shown below. I have at last made one that I am happy with. If you would like one let me know or look in the classified.
The second request has been for the FAP fillers that have the lift up lid, commonly found on Mobilvetta’s and some German vans.
Pictures of both are shown below.
Hope you like them. They took me ages to get these ones right, and I have to print them in two stages.

Cheers PaulandChrissy

That looks great for an A-class, but even the standard Ducato washer bottle is very inaccessible. Have you any plans for one of those too?

Maybe not on earlier versions but on my (2020) Citroen Relay PVC there is a pull out/up extension tube for the windscreen washer bottle that I didn't even know about until I saw it on a utube video.

That’s clever. Someone has put some thought into it. 👍
