But purplish curtains!

Anthea I enjoy doing the thread. Taking photos gives me something to do while Martin's fishing  but I don't want to keep plugging away if no-one's interested. You're interested so that's it, job done! He's fishing atm, technically illegally as he doesn't have a licence but he's at the junction of river and sea. Sea is good!!!

I wouldn't change my rainy weather for your view but I hope your view will improve in the very near future. You've got that new van to get out and about in I and expect some piccies from you then.

We love your threads (y)...
If you put this thread to bed - you'll only have to open a new one for;
"Denmark, Germany, Holland to do to get us back to the UK and then northern Spain".

After following this thread, feel like there's no need to us to go to Norway now! Thank you for the photographs, the commentary and the humour.

Glad you enjoyed Mandal @jumartoo we also stopped there, it's a nice spot.Snap !

I'm enjoying the tread too! Don't stop. Especially now your sunshine has returned (y)

It had!!! Now it's blowing a hooley and we're on a ferry tomorrow

Thanks for your comment.
Can't wait to read about it :) I mean, eeeek(!) hope it all calms down before you have sail. Safe journey.

We loved your stories and pictures as well! Keep up the good work, just change the title into "From Spain to Norway and back" and we are all happy to follow you all the way back to Totana.

Thanks Yvonne. Will be in Holland fairly soon. What's the weather like/forecast for the next few weeks?

Morning J & M hope the ferry crossing is good, thanks for your tips and pointers, in 2 days we set off down your Swedish route in reverse.

Oh. And it is raining here as well now

Didn't "like" cos of the rain part!

I hope the road works after the border are better. If not just take it steady and make sure everything is stowed well otherwise you'll have annoying rattles!!!

What did you think of Lofoten?

It's been a good trip, I think thevLofoten bit may have been over hyped by the tourism over here, we have found equally stunning scenery on the way.

But pleased to have been, little bit of me wishes we had gone further north

Next time maybe. :):)

Well Judith, this week you don't want to be here. Lots of wind and rain. It should get better by the end of next week, but you never know.

Same thoughts as us then. Didn't like to say that before you went. We should have gone further north because we'll probably never go that far up again!

We've found some fantastic places in this southern part which we're definitely coming back to (in better weather hopefully).

Arrived safely at the ferry port after a few stop offs to check out possible fishing spots!

A day of sun and deluge. When it rains, it rains and sounds like hail on the roof.

You should have seen the kids in the next vans run when the last rain started

We're getting a touch of that today in Suffolk. It's washed the woodstain off the fence fence I painted in the sun a few minutes before :-(

I think we are in Denmark...we got on another ferry a few hours ago....got off....and drove a little....I managed to get into 5th and then 6th gear....THATS IT...CONFIRMED...WE ARE IN DENMARK.....

PART TWO

Norway to Spain the shorter way round

We've spent the night on a supermarket carpark in a place called Hjorring about 20 minutes from the ferry. Found it in the Scandinavian Stelplatz book. Not somewhere we normally stop but we had a quiet night here. We'll do a bit of shopping here before we leave and check out Danish prices.

We're off to see a lighthouse that's being swallowed up by sand. The expect it to collapse by 2020 so we'll have to be quick!

Piccies later!

Can you restock on wine now? was it too expensive further north or not availible for some reason?

A three litre box of Australian red was about £40 in Norway. We replaced Jan and Eli's box of red (and white!!!) but we couldn't bear to pay that for ourselves :( when we pay under €8 for five litres in Spain!!! We thought Denmark would be cheaper. It probably is cheaper than Norway but still quite expensive as we gathered on the ferry when the Danish were coming from duty free with trolley loads! Martin disappeared to buy us a three litre box of Chilean red for £20 which we're drinking at the moment because it's raining again and our washing is going round in a machine on a marina Stelplatz!!!

We still don't know if that was a good move or not but atm we don't care .

Yes we were slightly surprised to see so many passengers buying so much stuff on our ferry, it was like the old days of travelling across to France. I think you have done the right thing buying a box for £20. :wine:

After doing a bit of shopping we headed to the coast to see the lighthouse Rubjerg Knude which is likely to collapse in or around the year 2020 as the sand below is eroded away and blown inland. The lighthouse was built in 1900, 200 metres from the sea and, even though vegetation was planted to try to halt the erosion, mother nature is winning. The sand encroaches by about 20 metres a year.

You can climb up inside on new, metal steps. The view from the top.

We, again, just escaped before a group of kids arrived!!!

In 2032 it's estimated that the sand will be down to here!

We're now on a fee paying marina parking just 3km from a lovely free place but here we have a washing machine and dryer and leccy. It's on the Limfjorden which is supposed to be one of the best fishing places but a local guy told Martin that there aren't any fish!!! Maybe just doesn't want some foreigner taking his fish :reel:. Pity its so windy or Martin could call his bluff!

Were tucked in next to the building to shelter us from the wind. Can't do anything about the rain when it comes though.
