From Spain to Norway - the long way round

Hi Judith and Martin, we have just read your addictive adventure thread from the start to present time, fantastic really enjoying the journey so far, wonderful photos, (what camera are you using)? sometime in the near future we have a similar trip planned.

Enjoy and stay safe...

Hi you two, glad you're enjoying our trip. No camera. All photos taken on either iPhone or Motorola G.

Really recommend a trip in Scandinavia and Eastern Europe. It's opened our eyes to a whole lot of travelling needing to be done. France is a good place for motorhomers but we're getting tired of the same old .......

I was a bit apprehensive about Poland. After all so many Polish leave for "better" places, but what we saw in Poland and the people we met have made it a place to revisit.

Scandinavia is expensive, especially Norway, but it's not going to be an annual trip, but will be back again sometime to fill in the missing bits.

Waiting for our first Norwegian ferry. When we land we're on the Lofotens!

Melbu to Fiskebøl

No prizes for guessing what we're having for dinner!!!

After Martin's fishathon we headed further along the road. We pulled into a parking area to take some photos. We followed a Brit van in. We'd spoken to them yesterday along the road as we were travelling in opposite directions. A Brummie (another) and northerner from Huddersfield. We had a long chat and a stroll up the board walk together. Gave them publicity for Totana!!! Hope they come sometime cos they'd enjoy the walking.

The scenery is definitely a feast for the eyes but is a very busy place. It is Sunday though so it may be quieter tomorrow. We'll definitely continue to Å over the next few days and hope to get some walks in. We'll then check out the ferry prices and decide whether to cross to Bodo or drive back and round.

We're parked overlooking water (surprise, surprise) and have had our fish for lunch. With salad and a glass of red (measured portion) we found we had far too much so have half of it for another day. Any ideas???

Need to go to research walks while we have internet.

Thanks for reading :D

Well caught! (Mackerel's very filling.)

Looks a cooler day by you and cloudier. Must say this mini-blog is making Scandiland appear very tempting.

When we pulled up to enter the same car park with the board walk we were turned away, is was so full, people were having to reverse out because they couldn't turn around!! It was a Sunday..

We found the scenic routes and best beaches were off the main road to the right as you head to A, little roads which followed the coast and the mountains.

We're parked overlooking water at the top of the road to Henningsvaer. Will stay here tonight and hope there are less crowds tomorrow. We intend to drive the small roads tomorrow. Most of the walking we have information for is from Reine or Å so will have to go down there eventually. Will try to find a tourist info tomorrow.

Tonight's view!

You should have come with us, we could have had a great trip together!

if the fish is still raw, just grill it it with salt n pepper on, if you cooked it, chop it roughtly large chunks and put it tne oven with a can of tomates and a few herbs, par boil or mircowave some new potateos ,then slice add butter and roast in oven.......that wil be £2.50 please

Not that I intend to fish myself, but what did you do to the fish, I presume they need to be gutted? Do they die naturally when removed from the water, not sure I could fancy despatching them before eating them

I think buying them pre killed / gutted for us, but I do admire Martin doing it himself (y)(y)

Great Phil, but no oven or microwave in our van. Think we'll have to add it to a sauce though. It's already cooked.

Martin had to despatch them with a rock. I turned my back. He then had to gut them. He admitted he didn't like doing it. He enjoyed the catching though, especially when they kept changing direction in the water. I think more will go back than we keep now. One every so often is sufficient for us.

You big booby! You gut them yourself, nothing to it after you've done one.

I managed to skim read to the last 2 bits, OK with them, think we might just need to eat out, should I get some more krone :):)

can't beat chilli though, plenty of mince and chicken will be in the freezer, alternate curry / chilli / curry / Bolognese
