I think you’ve misunderstood my question

I already have the Anderson connector plugs (as supplied by Offgrid Power Solutions)

my question was

Am I correct in thinking the flying lead you mention with the moulded splitter,

“Can I just snip off one of the pin connectors and make the cable end off into the male Anderson connector then push both together to supply the Victron?”

Sorry I don't understand what you are trying to do.

The Anderson is not male and female, both ends are effectively plug and socket. On the lead connecting to the other end you simply invert the plug so it plugs into the other.

There are of course two wires - red is positive, black is negative - both will need to have connection through to the Victron Solar input positive and negative.

You can chop off any of the ends on the folding solar to replace the manufacturer's fitted plugs or pins with your own choice of connector, but of course this will have two matching sides to your chosen connector, positive and negative that will then need to correspond to the fitting on the lead being connected into. Note that replacing a pre-fitted lead will invariably invalidate any warranty.

Why not fit XT60 connectors as they are already built into the fly lead,

thanks actually a good idea I think, it also has this other type of connector and not sure if that one might be better to use as its colour coded

What do you think?

The XT60 can’t be connected wrongly if wired correctly, so both are suitable for the job,
