Flt strikes again!

Agree with 2 posts above. Might be stolen and waiting to see if it has tracker on.

If supermarket chain's security have not thought of that their contract should be terminated.

It's obviously a woman that has parked that M/H. :)

maybe stolen, broken down, someone dead inside.. has it been reported to the police yet ?

Mmmmmh. Don't think so as it doesn't appear to have hit the car parked in front of it!

Why don’t we change FLT to something like Free Living Tourists. I think it’s a lot better and not as offensive. Now i don’t mind what people call me but I would rather it be nice:sneaky: Now if all the people on here who park their motorhomes perfectly all the time saw how many spaces i take up they’d probably have a fit.:p:p:p

But if we do that, what derogatory term should we then use for the real free-loading t*ssers?

How about another exciting topic?

I’m sure on the photo I can see grey draining at the rear, although it might be my eyesight :D

Having driven round our local Lidl car park and not found a vacant space I tend to agree with @dave newell lvs. I don't often go to Aldi.

I park my PVC in just one space about as far away from the supermarket as possible, arriving just after 3pm when all the mums are leaving to do school pick-ups and the car park is emptying fast. Yes my PVC overhangs a bit, but all 4 wheels fit into a standard 2.4m x 4.8m parking space. Never bothered anyone else.

Meanwhile the local Waitrose is trying to sell part of its car park that is allegedly "under-utilised", for development as a gym or drive-through fast food outlet. Instead of converting that area into larger parking spaces for the vans and occasional MH that goes there to shop.

In reality local Planning Policies and guidance never mention larger than standard parking spaces for surface car parks for shoppers, except for family / disabled spaces that will get an extra 1.2m space between bays, and in the case of disabled bays can also be up to 6m long instead of 4.8m. It's extremely prescriptive. An application by a developer that includes larger parking bays for MHs risks refusal. Developers also tend to maximise the number of car spaces whereas Planners want to minimise them to force greater use of buses and bicycles. Commerce v. ideology.

Whilst in Ireland this year we wanted to go to Dublin. We drove into the city but couldn't find anywhere safe to park up for the day so decided park n ride would suit us best.
I looked at park n ride on south side as we were driving clockwise from Belfast. Drove 12km to find the Ballaly park n ride...underground with 1.9 m height restriction. We gave up and drove on to stay over at Sally Gap.

I am in total agreement the motorhome should not be parked so as to take up all those spaces in circumstances that cause detriment or annoyance of other users. However, what is not known is whether he inconvenienced anyone, we don't know the size of the car park, some can be quite large, we don't know how busy it was, it could have been quite empty, we don't know how long he was parked there for, perhaps it was a five minute visit for a loaf and pint of milk then on his way with ten minutes. So if the car park was not busy, no one was inconvenienced and the motorhomes was there for only a few minutes, it's hardly a hanging matter. Of course if the car park was busy and the motorhome was there for a lengthy period, whether the owners were shopping or not, and causing inconvenience to other users that would be different. Based in what is know I wouldn't want to get the rope and gallows out just yet.

Overstaying on the campsite is a different matter, I expect he was supposed to live by noon and it appears he didn't seek permission to overstay and had to be told to go. That is unacceptable rude behaviour, but it isn't evidence of how he did, or didn't, behave on the car park.

I think all that info is in the thread.

perhaps I will read it again although I didn't see that first time round.

Yes, reread and just saw this from Dave N,

"And it's still there, the staff are discussing decorating it with Christmas lights. They still haven't seen hide nor hair of the occupant.":D

That does put a different light on the matter. Anyone got a rope?

Personally I have to ask where the proof of that is.
It's all very well to post an initial picture and start a thread.

But if it was me and I wanted to prove my point id have taken photos of the rest of the carpark and I'd have taken a photo later in the day or next day of it still being there especially as he claimed to have past it again.

Now folk can take that how they like. I'm not accusing anyone of lying but it certainly is not beyond some and I for one see it like a court of law would see it.

Make an accusation then provide evidence to back it up.

Far too many stories in the media about alleged motorhome anti social behaviour without evidence.

Certainly should not be the same on here as this is supposed to be a motorhomers support forum not a motorhomers victimised forum.

That's my opinion anyway.

Prove guilt not innocence

Because the OP told he was there for ages but ,,,What does it really matter, unless of course you just want the last word in a row again
It's not a question of the last word when lets face it with respect that's normally yourself.

But you have to admit these type of threads are all too common and usually lack any factual evidence.

There would be a lot less rows if folk didn't exaggerate and make things out to be worse than they are.

There's available space there , people have even posted sattelite image showing a car park with no verge it could be parked over and the spot clearly tucked round the corner out the way.

To be honest if the vans still there and there's been no sign of the owner perhaps someone should go tap on the door and make sure the owner is still alive

That would be more productive :D

Just glad you lot don't see what I get up to I would probably be dragged out and stoned to death

Lol ...you'll notice I actually stopped commenting on this thread yesterday and I put it on unfollow and unwatch...ticked all 3 boxes but I still get alerts for it. I only looked again tonight because I saw you had commented on it AND I only replied again because of your comment to @iandsm that was the only reason.

So it's not a case of wanting the last word I see that as a cop out to be honest.

My comments have all been respectful and simply defending what I see to be a case of some mystery motorhomer being slated on here for something that hasnt really been proved.

But I'll attempt once again to put the thread on ignore but it does not seem to work as I still get alerts for it.

Yaaay! I'm having a good old chuckle to myself here. ...THANKS @Jim, @Northernraider , you've just added to my night, good company, nice meal and now a few laughs on here. This site can be more entertaining than the cinema...And in true scots style its free:LOL::LOL:
