Boeing in the news for the wrong reasons again.

We have to wait for the NTSB and FAA to discover what caused this failure, but one possible cause could be the use of under-sized bolts securing the panel in place.

A similar cause was what blew out the Captain's window on a BA aircraft resulting in the Captain being sucked part way out of the fuselage. Fortunately crew members were able to hang onto his legs and he survived, and I believe returned to flying again later.

Saw this plane do a "U" turn and head back due south around 14:30 today, somewhere over NW Cumbria or possibly SW D&G and thought "I must download Flight radar !"

Juan Browne on the Blancolirio youtube channel is an excellent source of information and technical expertise on air incidents, well worth a watch for aviation related info.

There's a playback feature on FR24. Just had a quick look and I see there was a couple hawks in that area around about that time. There was also a P8 Poseidon and another RAF aircraft which I didn't catch.

There was a Poseidon P8 for few hrs on the danube delta near the black sea today. It went back to Sicily. What are these Poseidons?

Sub hunters as far as I know, full of impressive tech anyway. Based up in RAF Lossiemouth and I can highly recommend watching them take off and land from the car park there that allows motorhome overnights. Been many a time.

They are scrambled quite a lot to face off against the Russians and were featured in the recent TV show that was filmed up at Lossie.

They are anti Submarine warfare, maritime patrol and reconnaissance aircraft made by Boeing and used by the USA, RAF and a few others.

I was curious what it was searching for. It came from Italy nato base straight to a point it hovered for hrs in a tight spot. Maybe black sea scanning.

Global Hawk now

I watch FR quite often but only pick up commercial air traffic.
Do you have to subscribe to access military aircraft movements?
Keep getting a pair of V22 Ospreys flying overhead and would like to know where they came from / are going to.

You don't have to subscribe for military aircraft to be visible although if you do subscribe you can use their military filter option to make them easier to spot and track.

Of course not all military aircraft will be visible for obvious reasons.

The Ospreys aren't exactly stealthy - I always feel that I could probably down at least one of them with my shotgun.
Often wondered if B2's and F117's show up on FR :giggle:

Not sure why this flight from Paris just turned round at its destination?
