I saw a YouTube video of them arriving at Fairfield last week, together with a U2.

I drove through Fairford at about 4:00pm. today. I was watching the sky for any interesting planes.

I've posted this elsewhere on the forum but I thought I better post it here, where most viewers have an interest in aviation. I had this on audio cassette more than 30 years ago, someone borrowed it and I never got it back.
I'm delighted to have found it again. It is a bit dated but hilarious. Enjoy (y)

I've seen a few of these before but they're no less shocking 2nd time around :frowny:

Wow some video. Looks like a few of them took out loads of spectators. I've seen the 3rd one loads of times, it's so surreal seeing the plane act like that.

This is one of the best, if not the best WW2 documentary I've ever seen. The huge majority of the footage is new to me. It is all about London and the South East counties and how the war and Hitlers V weapons affected the area.
Well worth watching, believe me (y)

A yank Embrear Phenom doing circuits at Swafham near Lakenheath, a Stratotanker on the ground at Mildenhall. Probably just using up tax payers money.

An absolute gem of a historical documentary. It should be required viewing in schools as a reminder of the sacrifice of so many outstanding young men.

I have just watched The Shepherd on Disney+. A ghostly tale, only 40 minutes long and written by Frederick Forsyt, featuring a lovely old De Havilland Vampire.

It stars the actor John Travolta who is actually type-rated for that aircraft but was piloting a Mosquito in the film.

John Travolta plays an important but minor role, perhaps only appearing for ten minutes in all. I enjoyed the film, the De Haviland Vampire night sky looked very realistic in this largely CGI movie.

Ben Radcliffe plays the main character, Travolta an important role but only seen for five minutes or so. A largely CGI film, I found the night sky and the Vampire aircraft both realistic and quite beautiful.

Sorrry, thought I had lost my previous post. Duh.

Troubled young man steals an aircraft. ATC tries to safely talk him down.
"I wasn't really planning on landing it." my heart sank

A400M Atlas (Loin47) low overhead just here in Telford then loops back towards RAF Shawbury left BZZ at 9:50.

Appears to have landed at RAF Shawbury approx. 10:17, disappeared off Flight Radar at 10:23.

Unusual sight to see these down at Shawbury although they overfly very frequently.

Are there not a load of issues with the A400's? From what I've been reading the military would have been quite happy keeping the Hercules.

This is an amazing story of a cock-up which could quite easily have ended up so differently as it happened in a turbulent region at a very bad time but somehow got away with it
