How about this for a flight pattern.

Two F15s made a couple of passes over Cirencester about 10 minutes ago - going to Fairford perhaps….?

They've been rumbling high above my house today as they do most days. They seem to go from Lakenheath to Wales and back.

We have been staying on the Cwmrhwyddfor campsite which is just down the road from the Mac Loop car park and watching the American F15 s flying so low was amazing also Hawks from Valley and the Beechcraft T-6 Texan II trainers.

Anyone know what's happening with the diverted flights in Poland? Seems to be a lot of bomb threats being made against flights in their airspace.

For over 30 years I've been listening to ATC on my airband radio and I've never heard anything like that, thanks for posting (y)

I did not understand why the ATC controller was beating around the bush describing the threat and not giving it straight that it was a bomb threat, which he did eventually.

It obviously confused the crew and did not provide them with enough information to decide whether to plan an evacuation or wait for steps, while at the same time they were flying an approach.

The controller also did not take in the crew informing him that they could not backtrack, since his next after-landing instruction also included backtracking.

A very strange move, never seen a red tracker trail

Either that, or a UK politician asked for a guided tour of the Polish countryside :giggle:

Seriously though, 23-24k ft seems to generally be the refuelling altitude for tankers. Don't know why yet.

Above small craft heights and below airline crusing altitudes????

You need to have fairly deep pockets if you fancy a flight in the two-seater Spitfire.
He seems to have no shortage of customers as he comes over our way sometimes 4 or 5 times a day when the weather is good.

That’s gone up in price.
Couple of years ago a little over 2k was the cheapest ride.

Was chatting to a pal at the sailing club on Wednesday who treated himself to a half hour slot in the Spitfire for his 80th. Did a bit of hands on. Said you only had to look to the side and it banked away. Very sensitive. Seeing the latest prices, I wish I'd booked a ride at Duxford when they were a mere £2K.
