Emptying your toilet cassette the German way.

It really isn't that difficult to take your own sh*t home with you or dispose of it properly. I don't even like the idea of digging a hole and chucking it in. Not sure thats any better than chucking it on the ground? Out of sight, but still pretty unpleasant.

At the very least dig a whole and bury it (away from all watercouses as a last resort). We have never put ourselves in the awful situation where this type of behaviour was necessary.
There is never a situation where this is necessary. There are always alternative options.

But some are just dirty lazy barstewards.

If there's no chemicals in it there's nowt wrong with digging a hole and burying it. I've done that several times in the past

This was an individual, not the whole of the German population.
No one saying its the whole German population. But that said its now the 4th German I've seen doing it . One in Greece nearly got lynched for washing a cassette out in the sea. And I seen 2 dumping in bushes in Spain

Nope.
Motorhome regulations in Germany state that you are not allowed to drain your grey tank anywhere other than the proper drains points.
I have no idea of the rules about cassette emptying.

I'm sure it's clear we all of us know where the stuff inside the cassette goes!
I get that some people think the casette is actually clean, natural, normal to put in a river or similar. I imagine that the same people treat it like a latrine, where after 24 hours it stinks to high heaven, so empty the damn thing wherever, it's intolerable! (this is much, much more convenient and cheaper than yeast, washing powder or the blue stuff!!!)
But sure, it's organic!!!
Maybe we should have a forum where pix of people doing bad things which bring MH life into disrepute are posted- like the OP?
Confronting someone like that is probably useless, but a record of activity with identifiable details is more likely to result in something being done?

Your latter point rings true with me, I've thought for some time about actually doing this on facebook!

We used one of the pop up stellplatz the other week at the caravan salon in dusseldorf (a shooting clubs grounds) and after I asked about grey disposal I was pointed to the corner of the field of rough ground. Eeekkk I've broken German law. However the elsan was a toilet so luckily we have a big black tank and used an other servicing point at the next location.

Don't agree at all with dumping in the edge.

What publication/app would i get to show me where there are places just to service the van, ie gray water, cassette blah blah.
Done a few FLTs now and it alway's concerns me where i might empty out. Would like to do more nights but always need to find a site to do above.
EDIT, talking about in France, Germany, Spain.

Best taking a second cassette and some strong bin liners, I did it in Scotland this year, full cassette in the garage inside a taped up strong bin liner, then emptied correctly when on a CL.

Really don't think madam could do that, i certainly couldn,t. Although better than dumping it in the edge,

I always carry a second cassette. Only used it once though, an aire in France where the emptying required a coin but the machine was out of order. The only one I've ever found that required payment for emptying.

Probably because it was private land owned by the shooting club? Although I’m surprised they were happy to let you dump water like that. You can’t even wash your car outside your home in Germany, think it’s something to do with chemicals getting into the water system.

Do cows worry about where they leave their waste, no.
Do cats worry about leaving their waste on gardens, no.
Do humans worry about doing the deed in a bush, behind a tree, no.

But it’s simply the principle of it and if the site had toilet facilities and not using them that’s the bad point about it.

Some people just don’t have any dignity or simply kindness towards the environment and that’s just bad education and simply being dirty tw*** ;(.

Good Morning
Maybe a second photo of his licence plate would be enough to identify him to other folk, especially if distributed around MH forums.

Phil in Northampton

We have a second cassette and never had a problem in the EU in the UK it's difficult to be a FLT that's why we don't tour the UK much campsites are to expensive for us and FLT in stinky lay-bys is not for us

BTW it's not the German way, it's the thoughtless as*hole way.
Too true there's a lot of anti motorhome sentiment in Whitby I spoke to someone who is convinced the poo at the layby above robin hoods bay is from the camper vans that frequent it.

The problem with this is still what it looks like. No one cares what type of checmicals - or if any - you have in the box, all people see is that you empty your s**t somewhere it doesn't belong. I personally wouldn't dare to empty any kind of large container publically when I'm travelling with MH, no matter if it was just pure water. Because it looks bad.

I remember the designated cassette emptying spot at Tagazoute on my first trip to Morocco in 2015. There must have been well over 100 motorhomes here and god knows for how long. The emptying point was at the top of a long slope leading down into a gully and if you slipped the liklyhood is you would never be seen again until the rains came and cleared out the gully. I bet there was 20 feet of shit down there.:rofl:

My biggest thing would be the camicals we don't used camicals but we carry a spare cassette.
When traveling it goes in the toilet and under the van till we find a appropriate place to dump.
In ten years we have only had to use it twice

You mean you would not have a second cassette full in the garage?

We have done it several times, no smell, no problems.
Never thought of it as we are relatively new to this game.
I certainly like this FLTing and would love to do more so it would make sence to get a 2nd cassette

Searchforsites… park4night… Campercontact… there are thousands of Aires to get rid of waste in France Spain and other in Europe, almost every town in France will have one…and most for free Bob…😎

Not heard of Campercontact, others yes, we have used.

I assure you no one has ever or will ever see me emptying a cassette in a hole.

On the occasions I've done this there has been no one within 10 miles of me

I don't know what makes you think we all only stay on stinky laybys.
In over 10 years we have yet to stop overnight on a stinky layby mostly because laybys are just too noisy.
We stay overnight in beautifully remote spots such a picnic areas and country car parks.
You don't know what you are missing.

We only have one cassette and hardly ever have a problem legally emptying it every 3-4 days any where in the UK

This one is in Easingwold - we stayed overnight twice this year
