EASTER AT AVON BANK MEADOWS
WYRE PIDDLE , PERSHORE, WORCS.
4th-11th APRIL (incl.) 202g783
7nt Rally (fewer nights can be booked)

The attendance list is Full? HOWEVER I will still accept names because there WILL be cancellations.
Before your name will be accepted from now, I require your Mob. No. in order to get
in touch with you. (You can send me a Conversation re this.) I will keep it safe if that worries you.

Please read the below information.

Read the 'stuff' at the bottom, ie Adults only, No 'Third Party' bookings.

Location: Avon Bank Meadows Campsite, Mill Lane, Wyre Piddle, Worcestershire. WR10 2JF
This is a Caravan and Motorhome Club CL. with a Rally field. The field has EHU and an aerial socket for all. (TV reception without this is not the best).

Avon Bank was awarded the Caravan and Motorhome Club CL of the Year 2018.
It's beside the River Avon which is navigable. Although I'm told it's Close Season for Fishing at Easter, boating/kayaking/canoeing are allowed from the site.

It can be seen that the space available for this event could be described as 'compact and bijoux'. I reluctantly therefore have to restrict attendees to Coachbuilt and A Class 'vans (and smaller). We cannot accommodate R.V.'s

The event starts at 12noon on Tuesday 4th April 2023
finishing at 11.00am Tuesday 11th April 2023 (1039)
We have received the prices for this year.

Non EHU Pitches are £13. Initially we have 6 pitches.
EHU Pitches are £17.
We will accept booking of 4 nights or more.

The Deposit this Year has been increased to £20 (non refundable) to be paid by 10th Feb.
The Final Payment to be paid by 17th March

Any units arriving outside of the start and finish days can only arrive From 12.30 hrs and depart no later the 11.30

Non EHU pitches will suit those that are looking for a budget option or those who have a good supply of Solar on their roofs.

Wyre Piddle is within easy walking distance, where there is a pub, and buses to nearby towns.
Pershore is a flat, pleasant, one mile walk through meadows. Pershore has an ASDA and numerous shops, bars and cafes.

Facilities: Although a basic site, Avon Bank has EHU for each attendee, TV Aerial sockets, and there are several water taps around the site. There are laundry facilities.
Access: Double gates from Mill Lane directly into Wyre Boatyard. Gravel driveway leading to the Field.
Dogs: Dogs are welcome. They must be on leads or tethered on the field. There is ample provision for exercise off the site.
Generators: As there is the availability of EHU for all, No generators will be accepted.
Pop up Gazebos. These will be accepted,

No ground sheets to be deployed.

************************************************

We have no idea as to whether there are events taking place at nearby Pershore but we will be bringing the Cornish Skittles and no doubt there will be other 'stuff' taking place for the enjoyment of all.
We will bringing our collection of Good, Clean, (Condition if not content) Paperbacks which will be on sale in Aid of Prostate Cancer UK

ADULT ONLY
This Rally is 'Adults Only.' The River Avon runs alongside the site and is deep. The site itself is Adult Only..
There is no objection to a child visiting with 'Day Visitors.'

THIRD PARTY BOOKINGS
I will not be accepting bookings from 'Third Parties' on this event. If you wish to attend with a mate, you will both, (or more) have to book in your own name.

On 3rd van so not a total newbie....
Morning, with the high rainfall levels recently, just wondered if there was any concern over the rally field?

I know last year there was at least one van stuck, and when we left the field was "soft" but just ok, last year was a lot drier though...

Thank you for your question,

I have spoken to the owners in the last week and they have no concerns regarding the softness (or otherwise) of the the ground.

Hi Pam,

I can see that you paid the remainder of the money and posted on this thread that you had done so.

You were also included as a participant in the Conversation for attendees to the rally.
In that Conversation it stated,
"
WHEN YOU PAY, INCLUDE IN THE REFERENCE, YOUR MOTORHOME FUN 'HANDLE' (NAME),

When you have done the deed, send me a reply in THIS Conversation.

When I have received your money, I will acknowledge receipt on the OP and give you a 'Thanks' on your informative post."

Notwithstanding that, you posted on the Rally page rather than the Conversation that you had paid, (See post 97 above,) and I did give you a 'Thanks' to acknowledge receipt of your money.

It was remiss of me to not alter the payment but I will do so presently.

Regards

Derek

PS. I have just gone to the OP of this Rally and it shows you as 'Full Payment'
The copy you are looking at was copied on the date that you paid AND BEFORE I had any chance to change your payment.

Lots now
The first post in this thread lists who is attending and it has a longish reserve list, as most of Derek and Mary's meets usually have
Yes. I saw that. It may have to be chester food and drink. I'm just concerned as the last time we did it ( my first rally ever) we all got stuck in the mud.

With the rain as it has been recently...
Oy!

With a deep ditch on one side of the field and an even bigger ditch on the other side called the River Avon I don't think Avon Bank has drainage problems unless those two ditches fill up.

Not sure what the weather will be like , but last time I checked it was nearly fully booked so if you are wanting to go you would need to book quite handy. I'm sure if you prefer there is some hard standing by the Fun area as and with your larger van you could go on this . Check the Chester thread out for details.

And welcome to the forum.
I am sure the rally organiser Emmit will be along shortly. I can see from his attendance list in post #1 of this thread, he has a decent waiting list so hopefully he will not mind me offering a space on an alternative rally, albeit a bit further away from you.

Good Morning JacMarshSteParker, (and apologies for the delay in responding)

w2f

As Riverbankannie has already said, we are f'lup. Again, we have a 'Reserve' list of Funsters wishing to come that we can't accommodate as we are restricted on space.

The Rally at Quackers place at Old Sodbury isn't that far and I'm sure the both he/them, (they are a couple), RiverbankAnnie and all the attending Funsters will make you more than welcome.

Regards

Thank you Emmit I was unsure how many cancellations there would be - we had considered The Rally at Quackers place at Old Sodbury but we really wanted adult only. I will message RiverbankAnnie and see what it’s all about. Lovely to speak to you and hopefully we will meet up soon. best regards Jackie and Steven.

Usually you will not find many children on MHF rallies. And if there are they will often be supervised by Grannie and Grandad. That says something about the demographic of MHF.

But Riverbankannie will confirm if there are any on the Quacker's meet

JacMarshSteParker,

I understand your comment re children.
Avon Bank is A O because the site owners deem it so because of the River.

The next bit isn't bragging. The rallies at Avon Bank, of which we run two, (other 'Clubs'? also run them there) , are very popular on Fun.
For fairness, we always give notice of when the Attendance list will be open. Usually a week going forward.
When that time comes, the list is invariably filled on that day/night and anyone who misses out goes on the Reserve list.

We do not have a 'Mates list' and, in that way, it makes it fair to everyone.

Regards.

We stayed at quakers last year, it is a fantastic site, and the owners are fantastic. A little way out, but would go there again (but not this Easter, as at Avon bank!)
