DVLA WAITING TIMES

Still awaiting my licence from DVLA submitted mid August. Tread mill test finally done on the 13 th Jan after 2 cancellations due to DVLA not paying invoices to 2 prior NHS trusts.
I did request to the technicians that the treadmill test results were submitted back to DVLA asap but all in the lap of the gods now . :(
 
Retension cert for 0006 RSN arrived this am. 3 days.
Also V5 to replace it also 3 days.
No complaints here this time.

The dealer posted the application to register and tax our new motorhome on 8th Jan.
Showing up on the database today as being taxed, so less than 3 weeks all in.
Can't complain about that as I was expecting it to take at least 6 weeks.
 
The issues were on Watchdog last night. Strange how they were able to get through. Watchdog. Would need to rewatch but I think they were suggesting contacting an ombudsman.
 
Sent off my V5C for upplating beginning of December.

Chased them a couple of days ago.

After having to prove they had received it via recorded delivery I have been given a case number and told not to contact them for another 6 weeks !!!!

I have tried both DVLA numbers over 100 times each today. Whilst trying to access their web chat sent my licence off originally in June 21 stillwaiting

I was commenting on the previous post as pre covid you could have 7 days off without having to produce a doctors note,at the moment it has been extended to 28,so you can just phone in sick and stop working!

The currently displayed waiting times are still a bit of a joke.

I sent a V5C change request to them in the first week of October and have received it back today 29th January. 15 weeks turn around time!

Sent in V5 for uprating from 3.5T to 4.0T on 19th January received new V5 today.
All seems to be correct.
No complaints from here.
 
Recived my licence renewal on Friday renewed online 28/01/22 today 01/02/22 it showing online as renewed with new photo from passport.

I managed to contact the DVLA today,took 30 mins ,after advising my ref no, then name, any middle names?,dob, full address,they advised they were waiting for my treadmill test results that I did on the 13th Jan. They expected to receive the results usually within 10 days of the test.they would chase the hospital. I said I would also chase and was asked to request a resend to the DVLA if it had been posted more than 10 days ago.
Called the hospital ,records sent on the 26 th Jan to DVLA. To send more would require pulling out the records copying and resending,but they would check.
I did ask DVLA, if they recieved the records next week how long approx before my licence is renewed assuming all satisfactory?
Well what a silly question to ask, may as well have asked for the winning lottery numbers.
Another wasted hour plus. :(

Got my renewal forms. It says I cannot renew online as my photo expires within 60 days.
This is a first renewal after 70 and I though I would be able to renew online if I dropped the C1 but it seems I cannot.
The forms I have to send by post, do not allow the option of dropping the C1 and it says do not alter them in any way so I cannot communicate this except by covering letter.
I really wanted the licence to travel in EU in May, or at least this year but last time it took 10 months for the renewal.
Maybe I have to get on the phone ……..☹️:crying:😭
 
I have tried the phone but they do not even let you queue up theses days , just says try later, goodbye.

Can you remember the date on your old photo? Mine is stamped 23.03.2022 and it says cannot renew online within 60 days of expiry date. A very odd exclusion. I have a new passport from which they could lift my current photo.

No can't remember the date of the old photo but I looked like a teenager to what I do now lol, once the reminder to renew arrived I just applied on line and the used the photo off my passport which was renewed in 2020.
 
Anyone know if you update your photo on your driving licence and pay the fee do they issue a new card valid for 10 years or for the time remaining from your "original" card?
 
It says on the envelope flap that I have to send my driving licence and identity document (originals not copies). That means passport too.
Do these get held up in the system?
 
Strangely I ordered a provisional licence for my sons 17th Birthday and it arrived in 3 days!
