Just heard from Highlands End, they've allowed me to transfer the deposit from a cancelled June booking to the Funsters meet in July and said the remainder needs to be paid 7 days before the booking, so it looks like they are intending to be open if Boris says yes!

Good Afternoon - thank you for letting us know - as this is a meet booked direct with the campsite any booking changes need to be made with Highlands End. At present that needs to be by email to bookings@wdlh.co.uk, please include your surname, booking number, holiday park, new dates (arriving 8 July & departing 12 July 2021 for Motorhome Fun Meet but dates are up to you) and phone number.
This year they allowed one dog to stay free per booking for Funsters for the Meet dates (or longer if stays extended) but waiting to hear back if they are able to offer that again next year so suggest if you have a dog that you either mention that in your email or wait until we hear back before postponing so that can be sorted as easily as possible for all.
Once you have had confirmation just let us know & we can update the lists on here & add you to the new thread for 2021 once we start it. Hope that all makes sense?!

Please put me on the meet for next year as I have tickets for the festival but I am still hoping to go this year leaving it until very last minute before moving my booking fingers crossed
What worries me is England will be open but Wales still closed ……….

I have had confirmation back that they will defer our booking until the same weekend next year to coincide with the festival. All I have to do now is find the booking reference.

Good Afternoon,



We would like to give you an update on your forthcoming holiday with us at West Dorset Leisure Holidays.



We have been closed now since 23rd March, so we are very excited at the prospect of opening again on the 4th July, all being well.



According to the current government guidance and safety advice, we are confident that we can welcome customers staying in Lodges, Caravans, Apartments, Bungalows, Jurassic Escape Pods and any Touring caravans, Motorhomes or Campervans who are fully self-sufficient with on-board toilet, shower and washing facilities. The water and chemical disposal points will be open.



We do not envisage at this point being able to open the shower and toilet block, washing up facilities, laundrette, park shops and play parks. The Leisure Club at Highlands End Holiday Park will remain shut and Martin’s Bar & Restaurant may also not be open fully, but will be operating a takeaway menu. But we will make changes as the Government makes further updates and we will keep you informed with our pre-arrival emails.



If you are staying in a tent, glamping unit or touring caravan, motorhome or campervan without private bathroom facilities, we ask that you sit tight as the Government guidance unfolds and hopefully moves to the next stage of the lockdown. If we are unable to welcome your unit type, we will contact you 10 days before your arrival, unless a complete lockdown is again imposed as late as the day of arrival.



7 days before your arrival date we will contact you to collect your balance payment and to let you know further information about the arrival procedure, our social distancing and how we can ensure all customers and our team feel safe once we are open. Customers with an online account can still pay their balance 7 days in advance, your confirmation will provide further details.



We apologise that we cannot give more information, as we haven’t received this from the Government yet. Thank you for your patience.



If you are concerned about your holiday and would like to delay to later in the year or to 2021, please email bookings@wdlh.co.ukwith the name of the park you’re booked into, your surname, booking number and a telephone number and a member of the team will be in contact with you. We are working on a skeleton Team, so please allow us 7 days to respond during this exceptionally busy time, please note as some of the team are working from home if they need to call you it will display as a withheld number.

I doubt we will either. We have stayed there before and it's a nice site so it is definitely a shame.

Thank you MikeD for posting that update from Highlands End - we didn't receive that as we have had to postpone our booking to next years Meet (8-12 July 2021 to coincide with Jurassic Fields Festival 2021) having vulnerable family members to consider.
It's good that final payment is now 7 days before arrival as know many are waiting to see what happens in the next couple of weeks before deciding to go this time or postpone. Due to the current situation, one change of booking dates is free so no charge to postpone although pitch fees are a small amount more next year. Highlands End are waiting to see how things are going before their management can decide whether one dog can stay free for next years Meet or not but easy for us to postpone by email to the Meet dates or other dates next year in the meantime just those with dogs may not have the same discount as this year.
As mentioned above if you wish to postpone then email to bookings@wdlh.co.uk, including your surname, booking number, holiday park (Highlands End), new dates (arriving 8 July & departing 12 July 2021 for Motorhome Fun Meet but dates are up to you) and phone number.

Err.......I have asked them to call me. .......IF it's good weather and IF there is any possibility of getting a beer in the bar/local pub we might go. As it stands as above but I reserve the right to be a PITA!!
We like West Bay. Good weather and maybe a take-away chips could swing the deal. We also like that lovely pub down the lane from the site. Lovely people. If it's still there of course because last year the tenants had only just taken over.

There are lovely views from the campsite & the nearby walks so sure you won't be disappointed - we are sad to have to miss these this year but really looking forward to next time.
