I have had the un approved A Z jab.
We are booked on ferry for france late july. Do you think i will ve able to travel. Just deciding whether to change and do ferry to Spain.

The Indian one? France doesn’t seem keen on it.

doubtful that they will check batch numbers

How do we find out for certain? If i cant go i will book ferry to Spain. Dont want to be refused at Dover. Then stuck for holiday.

I thought a negative PCR would suffice (inside 72 hrs)

Indian one is batch numbers 4120Z001, 4120Z002 and 4120Z003 which should be on your vaccine card.

When do you need to make a decision by?

Suspect it will be resolved soon but no clear decision from the French yet.

Mine is the Indian one too as is my wife’s. Both were first jabs in March.

Typically France are being difficult and I would bet they check the batch numbers ( there are only 3 to look out for after all ) so I would try Spain but who knows what the Spanish approach will be?

A difficult and ridiculous position that you find yourself in sadly.

Health secretary said today the talk of some of our jabs being unacceptable to the EU is a load of tosh and he's ironing it out with his EU counterparts.

The wifes first jab was too also in March, not sure what the stance is when it’s only one of two jabs that is the Indian version.

I thought Government and today Javid said none of the Covishield vaccines were used in the UK?

Spanish approach along with at least 6 others which include Germany Portugal and Greece from memory is to accept the Indian vaccine.

When it is uploaded to NHS app does it show your number ?

There are people on other forums that have said they crossed through the tunnel no problem today and they had the Indian jab. I am in the same position, my first jab was the Indian one but I’m hoping there is better clarity come late August for when we set off. 🤞

The NHS digital covid certificate will have the batch numbers on.

That's well interesting. And brings me back to what does it show on the app
The batch number but not covishield. It states vaxzevria, at least it does on mine

At this stage I don't think the average border staff on the average day even knows what to look out for or even wants to get involved in political points scoring.

Vaxzevria is acceptable to the French so all good (I think)

That is what I think but it’s still not great to not have complete clarity. Fingers crossed we all get across with no problems 👍

I shouldn't worry about it. France and the rest of the EU will get their act together as some countries/ members need our holiday money.
I would worry though if I suddenly got the urge to eat hot curries and my head moved from side to side when I spoke.

Let's be crystal clear... it's not a dodgy batch(s).

There's absolutely nothing wrong with these three batches of AZ vaccine.

It's purely the pedantic eu's anti UK bureaucracy & political antipathy which is causing this administrative angst.

From day one, the EU has had it in for Astra Zeneca due some perceived sleight that AZ didn't kowtow to the Commission's Omnipotence.

The important thing is that vaccinated you are protected from the worst effects of the virus.

IMO.
