Covishield Indian Ox/AZ jab

Im in same boat cant get a difinitive answer off anybody. Waiting for ccc to return our email re the situation
Simon have you heard anything yet? La Connexion is reporting that those three batches will not be accepted, but I'd expect that this would be hitting the headlines if people were actually being turned away. It's so frustrating, especially given today's positive announcements.

Hi Harby
It seems to be a secret and nobody seems to know the answer. Contacted ccc club today they hadnt heard of it. My wife has spoken to the French embassy and they haven’t got a answer. So i have a cut off date in my head and if i cant verify by that date i will book Spain. But the problem now is due to todays announcements the ferry will be booked up its a f ing nitemare.

Yes we were wondering whether to head towards Italy. But I've not checked their 'incoming' requirements yet. And - knowing our luck - we'll make all the changes and then something else will change. I think I've said it before (several times), but I'm now officially fed up with everything Covid-related.

Has anyone seen/heard any more on this yet?
Malta is not accepting the three AZ batches - https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/malta/entry-requirements
I've contacted my GP, who knows nothing more than the gvt websites, and my MP, who told me to contact my GP. Has the French embassy replied?
We're due to travel on 2 August and I'm getting increasingly worried. We could cancel, but my daughters are learning French and the holiday is the one opportunity for them to really experience it!

There are loads of people on other forums reporting that they have crossed over with no problems having had one of the vaccines from those batch numbers. Fingers crossed all

Well I haven’t heard of anyone yet being turned away and as you know bad news travels faster than good news normally but please update if you make it over ok. We go on the 25th August!

The gvt had, by last night, taken all reference to the three AZ batches off the Malta travel advisory, so hopefully this is old news 🤞🤞🤞

It’s what we had. If it’s not one hurdle it’s another.

The text now refers to Vaccines that are on the EMA Aproved list with a link and those AZ Indian batches are not approved by the EMA currently so it's a bit misleading.

Look on the NHS APP it will tell you the make View attachment 516146
It's not the make that's an issue, it's thee particularly batch numbers, 4120Z001, 4120Z002 and 4120Z003. These are the three 'dodgy' batches. My first dose was one of these, I'm not particularly happy about it, I wouldn't knowingly but a car made in India, why would I want a high-tech vaccine made there? Bit late now though, let's just hope they get the approval sorted out very soon.

It is the make too, if you have the batch but its marked as Vaxzevria you are likely OK but if its marked as the Indian name then likely computer says NO

Is there a list of countries that definitely accept these batches for entry?

Flipping heck. Both of our 1st vaccines are in these disputed batch numbers.

Is it a priority for the government to get a vaccine approved just so people can travel?. My wife has one of the affected vaccines I think it will be sorted in the end. I also think it would have been perfectly reasonable to charge £100 for a covid vaccination pass for travel to recoup some of the costs of vaccination. If they did they might get approval through more quickly.

Its for other Governments to approve it. All our Government and the Oz-AZ scientists can do to make the case.

I can’t see what the incentive is for the EMA to do anything at Boris’s behest. We are not EU members. Getting the EMA out if our hair was one of the benefits that arose from Brexit. Membership had costs and benefits. Now we don’t have the costs we don’t have the benefits. Simple really.
