Covishield Indian Ox/AZ jab

I didn't get a vaccine card ..and no idea what batch number i got.
I also got the Astra zenica
Not sure when you had your vaccine but I think it is mainly if you got vaccinated in March when I think those batches were used. Have you got the NHS app?

Doesn't seem to be one in Scotland

Register on the NHS app and you can find your batch number there. Note the main NHS App not the Covid one...

The Scottish NHS app may be different...
One of the stupid things about devolved power.
Different (politically motivated) responses to the Covid pandemic...
Four different "National" health apps.
What a waste of resources.

Scottish NHS has always been different from England. Different requirements.

As far as i can see there isn't an app for Scotland

I’m not lucky at getting my numbers pulled out, never get my lottery numbers so it’s only fair my COVID batch numbers didn’t come out either💉

Aye unfortunately it requires a username and password that I don't have.
I never received my vaccine invite letter they sent it to an address i left 4 years ago so my appointment came from phoning the helpline.. ill more than likely get a letter for my second one in about 8 weeks.
It will take only a few minutes online to get your nhs username setup only requires name, dob, address.

Only had my first jab so no point in letter yet ..i was just curious about batch

Go back to where you were vaccinated and ask for your card. They have access to your info on their system. They should have given you a card so just ask for it.

Im not that desperate lol ill wait

Spanish approach along with at least 6 others which include Germany Portugal and Greece from memory is to accept the Indian vaccine.

When it is uploaded to NHS app does it show your number ?
Yes (or at least mine does).

The batch number but not covishield. It states vaxzevria, at least it does on mine
Ditto here but strangely has me having it at a surgery in Newquay but I had it in St Columb!!

Definitely not dodgy - made under licence to the exact same formula as the UK and EU approved versions of AZ vaccine by the same company that makes most of the world's flu vaccines which we are quite happy take with no question of 'dodgy' origins. Also it is not anti-UK bureaucracy - just the normal approach from any medicine approval agency worldwide which cannot allow unverified medicines to be placed on the market and potentially harm citizens. The Indian version of the AZ vaccine will be approved by the EU - it just needs to go through the process. I would hope our own medicines regulator would not take any vaccine on trust just because another regulator in a different country had approved it.

If Scotland works in a similar way to Wales they should have a digital record of your last jab so when you go for your second, ask them to fill in the details of the first on the card too. I volunteer in a mass vaccination centre and that‘s what we do when people don’t have or can’t find their first cards.

The appointment letter / text will go the address /number held by your Gp so if you haven’t updated your details with the surgery you won’t get them.

One of my daughters & partner both had AZ vaccines from one of the affected batches for their 1st jab. Their second one was not affected, so how it works with France, I'm not sure.
If I understand correctly the issue is an error by the manufacturer in the registration of the affected batches. There's no problem with the vaccine, just the paperwork, so it should be easily resolved if those responsible act promptly.

It was updated with gp but for some reason the letter was sent to old address i was supposed to be vaccinated 7th of may but never received letter.

The problem is the Indian produced version of AZ was never meant for the European market so it was never submitted to the EMA for approval and the UK got the one produced in India due to shortages in Europe back in March.

A few countries are recognising them before the EMA does so hopefully most will shortly, there is a similar problem in the USA does not recognise AZ at all causing other similar issues.

Don't know about Scotland, in England after your jabs you get a card after the jab with the batch numbers
The numbers are also on the nhs app

Mine is the Indian one too as is my wife’s. Both were first jabs in March.

Typically France are being difficult and I would bet they check the batch numbers ( there are only 3 to look out for after all ) so I would try Spain but who knows what the Spanish approach will be?

A difficult and ridiculous position that you find yourself in sadly.
We have a Spanish friend who only yesterday told us there is absolutely no problem getting into Spain. The problem has been getting back into your own country. This should be resolved soon anyway for UK

That use to be the case until a few days ago when all you needed was to fill in their location form and that was it, now you need to do that, and have had a double jab or a negative PCR test 48 hour before arrival in Spain.

I'm in the same boat and very nervous/cross/frustrated about it all. Mine is definitely the 'risky' batch number but does say 'Vaxiveria' on my NHS certificate. Soooo frustrating. We're due to cross on 2 August, and I doubt any French campsites (that we've now had to pay final balances on) are going to refund us. I only got my jab in March because I was volunteering at the vaccination centre.

Im in same boat cant get a difinitive answer off anybody. Waiting for ccc to return our email re the situation

The Indian one? France doesn’t seem keen on it.
France isn't keen keen on anything at the moment. We do transport in and out of Europe plus house removals ,the French were particularly awkward this time ,wanting values on each line of the inventories ,instead of total value and questioning why there was a porter with the driver
Everytime there is a different rule

Let's be crystal clear... it's not a dodgy batch(s).

There's absolutely nothing wrong with these three batches of AZ vaccine.

It's purely the pedantic eu's anti UK bureaucracy & political antipathy which is causing this administrative angst.

From day one, the EU has had it in for Astra Zeneca due some perceived sleight that AZ didn't kowtow to the Commission's Omnipotence.

The important thing is that vaccinated you are protected from the worst effects of the virus.

IMO.
But not the French 😉
