Sun always shines on the righteous

Spent last night in assilah on the campsite, had dinner out .

Campsite absolutely jam-packed and noisy , left this morning on route to Rabat, made schoolboy error of going to petrol station and getting filled up before checking if they took card which if course they didn't. Blu threw up all over the throw and the floor about an hour after I hit the road....absolutely stinking. Stopped near kenitra at present having lunch .

Few pics from boat yesterday. Haven't taken any in Morocco yet .

On a campsite Tam. 🫣 Did them others drug you. 😂
I was attempting to be sociable
It like the A Team, except it's campsites instead of planes!
Had to be somewhere near the shop to get sim card , that was the only benefit of the campsite to me. I used none of the facilities as I have everything I need on board.

Parked up in Rabat now , managed to get one without a pest looking for money ....well so far. Parked up over looking the river near the hassan tower and not far from the kasbah.

Today has been a day of remembering why I don't really like morroco lol.

But I'm not gonna write it all out I'm just gonna say it reminds me of this moral story.

There was a frog and a scorpion, the scorpion asked the frog to take him over the river , the frog said "no because you will sting me " the scorpion said "why would I do that then we would both drown" the frog said " oh that's true OK jump on " half way across the scorpion stings the frog. As they're drowning the frog says " why did you do that , now we're both going to die " and the scorpion. Says .." I'm a scorpion "

I'm the frog in this story 😪

They hate dogs here ....and I love them , and in this case opposites do not attract.

I may just end up in tafroute in a week or so , have the work done and scuttle back to Spain. I'll have to look at distances etc.

Only one pic I'm afraid

If they don’t like dogs here then why is there so many…? And if they are all strays then they must have come from somewhere… and they would get rid if they really didn’t like them… they seem to like bloody cats too loads of them here…🐯

Interesting question. I think Islamic culture isn't generally that keen on dogs. Unlike cats that are regarded as pure.

I can't answer those questions unfortunately. It's the same in Turkey. Muslims believe dogs are dirty , they tend to look after the cats more than the dogs. There are so many purely because they don't neuter them sk they just multiply ...every so often they go out and shoot them en masse, Turkey euthanized thousands last year . Morroco was shooting them when I left 2 years ago. Any pet dogs you see are the wealthier folk with little toys mostly because they see westerners doing it.

I saw a dog being hit with a car today just before kenitra . And still so many injured and sick looking.

Parked up here took mine for a wee walk and got chased off some grass by some security guard bloke .

It's all smoke n mirrors for tourism and I can't be bothered with the fakeness if it all.

But anyway

We saw a few sad sights on the way into Rabat and that city was so hectic and busy honestly I don't know why you wanted to stop there with 4 dogs in tow. It was my idea of hell so we eat a quick sandwich and hit the toll road down to Oualidia. Just arrived. Lovely chilled seaside town, much smarter and quieter than anything we've seen further north. That's us for 2 or 3 days at least now. Walks on the beach, oysters and a bit of shopping from the small sellers.

Sadly it doesn't matter where I've been in Morocco they've the same approach to dogs unless it's a small lapdog.

Jade and milo not so bad , last time I had umpteen morrocans asking to buy them .

Bigger dogs they're all scared of them

But I don't like being parked up with that many vans anywhere either to be honest. It's just not me.

Well it's a lot quieter and more private than the spot in Rabat. You could have the dogs tied up at the side of the van. I'll be getting my chair out tomorrow and BBQing some fresh fish, the car park is chained off so no randoms coming in and out. Apart from one van at the side of us with the blinds shut that side the next nearest van is 100ft away!

In life the whole world around us is out of our control, we can't make people do what we would like them to do, we can't change situations we encounter, everything in the outside world is beyond our control but.... we can control how we react to it all, when we learn to accept that everything outside of our own lives is beyond our control we only control what we do & how we react can we be free... 🙂
And hopefully you can enjoy your time in Morocco mate 👍

Sounds & Looks Ideal to me, especially if it has water & waste facilities which I guess it does, I bet its a reasonable price also, small price to pay for security and peace of mind.
I don't think Tam will be eating out much, its all types of fish & seafood that I see on offer which I don't think he likes.
I would be in my element, I love all types of fish most seafood, plus I would get a chance to try those Sea Urchin's & Razor Clams that we don't see that often.
Enjoy the BBQ tomorrow, the harbour & beach looks very inviting.(y)

Services and it costs £4! They come round with fresh fish and bread for sale. Oyster shack sells them about 70p a pop but I will shut up now as I'm hijacking 🫣
