Doc on tour, France, Spain, Morroco.

OK I'm looking for ideas for places to visit in France.. weather looks reasonably dry .. so looking for somewhere around 2 - 2.5 hours drive...South, south/west .
Nice old village , lake, river, canal that sort of thing.

I keep getting told I don't give France a chance so ...show me what you've got.
Google search for the most beautiful villages in France

Les Plus Beaux Villages de France

Nice to see that like me you have none of these bloody pay to pollute stickers on the screen that everyone has… don’t tell me you’ve put a UK one on the back…😆🤔😎

Charroux - tiny village but cute

Bayeux, Normandy very historic see the famous tapestry in the museum. Dogs probably not allowed. Lisieux has many WW2 war cemeteries of all nationalities, my Polish uncle in law buried there in a Germany cemetery, killed in action aged 17. Lots of D-day stuff around Normandy.

Just caught up, have another great journey, I've got my seat belt on ready for my virtual winter holiday. Really looking forward to your photos and tales of meeting up with various Funsters, and of course the tales of what the Milo Jade Ela and Blu get up to.
Doc looks wonderful after all your hard work with some help from your friends.

I’m thinking at this time of year you need to get as far south as the Dordogne
Before it starts heat up
As long as it stayed dry I was going to explore a bit as not in a rush this year. But not sure where to go .

Puy du Fou, if you've never been check it out on YouTube to see if it's something you'd like but you'd probably have to leave the dogs in the van if they'd be okay by themselves.

Not for tomorrow (because of distance) and depending which way you're heading but two places that spring to mind are Aubeterre sur Dronne for a look inside the incredible monolithic church and Le Puy en Velay where you can get great views from atop some of the puys (volcanic hills). The town itself is a bit busy, mind you.

I’d be heading to the Cherbourg penisula - both sides. The nearest just past Caen fir Ww2 and DDay -atmospheric huge beaches and then I’d do the other wilder side.
So close to Brittany and that beautiful coast with so many places to stop. And drop down to the south to Morbihan area of Brittany - Quiberon perhaps
After that I’d go via Poitiers to Charente and stop along that great river- some really lovely villages there
But I’d head back towards the Landes south of Bordeaux to cross into Spain and mosey along north Spain before seeking the sun

Where is that - Castelnaudray? Home of cassoulet. Farty beans to you :)

its pulling from junctions and roundabouts really well hopefully and the hill up from the port it shot up no probs accelerating all the way. So hopefully it's the same on motorway.
That's good, that is quite a steep hill.

Go where I told you, free Aire by the river, old watermill.

Courville-sur-Eure.

As said previously Normandy and Brittany plus Le Puy - home of lentils. Otherwise try going down the Rhine valley, lots of historic villages and vineyards. Colmar is interesting.

Don't want to do the north coast and d day stuff , I did that many years ago.

I'm looking for pretty villages, castles, chateaus etc and some nice countryside really. Beaches we will get our fill of in Spain.

Le puy is wrong direction I'm heading towards Spain so south and west or just south ideally .
