Doc on tour, France, Spain, Morroco.

This shit is a nightmare when you're not technically minded .. so I downloaded WhatsApp on this phone but it needs WiFi to restore all contacts and messages etc ... the other phone now won't let me access WhatsApp as its moved it to this one and I can't see or hit the Restore button on the old phone as its on the bottom of the screen that's broken aaarrrrrrggggghhhhhhh

Feck sake .
Can you turn it upside down so it's visible if you turn off screen rotation?

Is your new phone a Samsung? You could try Samsung Switch.

I did it with Alan's phone when one of his work colleagues drove over it and bent it like a banana and smashed the screen ::bigsmile:
Worth an attempt Tam

What happens when you turn your phone upside down? Do you get any of the data showing then?
See MichaelT beat me too it, but thought I had posted this ages ago

Arrrrggghhjj security stuff is a bloody nightmare at times.

Everything wants to send a code to my UK phone number which of course that sim isn't in the phone .

If I put that sim in the phone I'm gonna rack up a shit load of charges for every text and emails ...

Feck sake

Absolutely agree with you on this one, if one phone dies and you want to use your other , they insist on sending a code to the dead phone, lots of things do this, I'm afraid usually it means having to phone them.
I had this problem in France when we broke down and then my phone died, crazy and most of the time it's only something that wouldn't worry you if someone else got in anyway.

Yep I'm completely stuck.. my emails , banking etc all need to text or phone my UK sim and if I install that I'll lose connection and be charged a small fortune .. absolute headache.

Can't even have WhatsApp on 2 phones at once .

Alan's just reminded me that he was more upset that his lunch got crushed at the same time ::bigsmile:

I'm giving up with this nonsense, will have to wait till I'm back in Spain to sort all my emails and banking etc out , i just hope I don't have any issues with cards etc till I get back or I'll really be up shit creek .

I'll have to go top up some credit on this other phone tomorrow just to make sure it lasts . I don't want to switch sims over incase they don't work on the other phone as I had the guy in the shop set them up for me as all info is in Arabic and French.

Bleedin annoying and a stark reminder to anyone to carry a spare phone but slso have it set up as a clone to your main one ... I had started to clone mine but obviously hadn't completed it. It was my mums old phone and I didn't want to delete or wipe stuff off of it.. I've lost it all now unfortunately but I had to register it on my Google account etc to make it work .

I've got WhatsApp, park4night and a few other essential apps for now at least .

But if I get any response to job applications i won't see them till back in Spain now unfortunately.

All 3 of my email accounts need to send a code to my UK sim in order to verify its me 😭 I know its necessary fir security but its a pain when out the country for a while.

I did meet Barchetta47 in sidi Kaouki and collected my master cylinder.

That thing has just caused a whole load of grief and I truly believe I don't need the bleeding thing .

I also think I passed jongood on the drive up ... I spotted a nice clouliner then a UK plate and it was towing a trailer

Exchanged a wave as we passed ...I'm sure it was him but I'm sure he'll confirm either way.

I also saw that big euramobil with the steampunk type paint or wrap on it parked at sidi Kaouki... didn't get a photo though .

I left Mike n brenna at tamri this morning as they're here a bit longer than I'm staying in Morocco so they're now in tafedna where the donkeys were and I'm parked up at the windmill spot again between sidi kaouki and Essaouira, might have a look around there tomorrow and stock up in Carrefour before I continue north ...I'm planning to return to the beach parkup I had at oualidia for a few days ... might have to stop one night on route though .

Reminds me...
In New Zealand, the bus driver reversed his coach over the tour leader's phone.
Totally flattened.
She went to a phone shop, bought a new phone and they transferred everything across.
So it can be done
Most can buy nothing sensitive like banking or emails it seems without a second form of verification...either text to registered phone number ... or by mail which is nae good either.
