Defibrillators at Rallies Anyone.

Age is no respected of cardiac arrests. I will contribute and if acceptable to Funsters I will put us in touch with a charity that can help with support and probably a good price with purchase of an AED. Power requirements are minimal, a cabinet based public AED uses less than tenners worth of electric per year. I'll get a price in the next few days.p

Great idea.

Happy to contribute as and when.

Great idea.

Is there any training and stuff required for insurance purposes?

I wouldn't have thought there would be a training requirement for insurance although it's always useful. After all, the defibs in public places such a airports, stations etc are designed to be used with no training. The machines talk you through what is needed & will i not deliver a shock unless the person is in a shockable rhythm.
Just for background, I'm a recently retired cardiac nurse & continue to be part of a team going into schools training 14 & 15 year olds CPR & use of the defib. All secondary schools in Leicestershire & Rutland are signed up to the scheme & will soon all have a defib on site. As mentioned earlier, cardiac arrest is no respecter of age.

brilliant idea, I believe one of our medically trained professional members like @stewartwebr or @carolyn may have the contacts to buy one "trade price"

happy to contribute to such a good cause

Anything that stands half a chance of eletrocuting Mo if he does show up gets my vote

Great idea Jim count us in. Lynda organised the one for our village after information given to her by @SteveandDenise about the one they had acquired in the their village, enabled us us to get one FOC. We also had free training for 30 persons by EMAS. EMAS had a quota of defibs to give out to rural villages, so we jumped at the chance.

Only problem we could envisage is the logistics of moving the unit/s round the country.

It's been mentioned to me on more than one occasion that it might be a good idea to have an Auto Defib Machine especially at our bigger rallies. And I'm thinking about fundraising for one, maybe two. Raffles Auctions, donations etc.

When it comes to rallies our, average age is well below many other clubs (unless Mo turns up) But I still think it might be a good idea. What do you guys think about our rally Marshals having our own De-Fib's?
I don't do rallies, but will contribute. Training inluded in price? Is the average age of other rallies 95:LOL: :boxing:(y)

at under £1500 retail, what price is a life worth. should be an easily achievable target between us

@Jim When we bought ours we bought from a company called Pysio control and it cost £650 plus Vat it is the same unit that East Mids ambulance service use and needs a new battery every 2years @ a cost of about £70 plus Vat.
The only bit we begrudged paying was the Vat.

Great idea.

No, the whole idea is that anyone can use one, however basic life support training should go alongside as its cpr that keeps the brain oxygenated.

Fantastic suggestion.
For every minute spent after a cardiac arrest without a defibrillator, the recovery success reduces by 10pcnt.
Early intervention is key.

If you do get one @Jim I’d be happy to create a training video for you to post on your rally pages for all to view to give an overview of what to do.
I teach emergency trauma care at work and have access to training aids/manikin/AED etc.
But as said, some ambulance services offer training sessions as do St Johns Ambulance.
However, the AED gives instructions and if someone was to ring 999 the ambulance operator will talk through what to do anyway.

Latest video from the Funster defib development lab.

Great idea. I would be happy to give a donation. We have one on the wall outside our village pub.
