defibrillator Fundraising

Don't forget the £668 we've raised off line. £678 now as a camper/Funster gave me a tenner yesterday (y)

Done. Such a good cause, lets hope they are never needed.

Done, now at 53%. Come on everybody, only takes a minute.

We were discussing the fund raising last night. Perhaps we could create a two tier scheme, a sort of priority list for those who have contributed. If someone has not contributed and was in a situation where they found they were unfortunate enough to require its use perhaps we could have a standing charge for its hire. I doubt anyone would decline to contribute in those circumstances. A bit like my mate who is an anesthetist who constantly has people complaining about his charges (lets say 1K) His stock reply to them is that they have their figures wrong, he only charges 5GBP to put you to sleep, its 995GBP to wake you back up, its of course optional.... would you like to opt out of that part? :D:D

I bit of light heartedness folks but a bit of a message within it, come on put your hands in your pocket and make a contribution. You never know when some of us may be unfortunate enough to have our life depend upon it.

Does that mean we now have 53% of £2000 ( £1060) plus £668, and we only need another £272 to reach the £2000? If so do we have enough to buy the first one of two?

........or we could just use the 'AA system' whereby a Funster is aloud to join the scheme after a breakdown.

Jim: "I just need your 16 digit number off your credit card please"

Unsubscribed Funster: "Gargle.......Gargle.......Gargle.........bleeeeeerrrrr".

Jim: "Sorry, was that first number a 2".

Get donating guys(y)

Happy to have donated - good to have them available, hope they are never needed
:)

Hi Mo,

I want to have a couple of fully automatic ones so that literally anyone can use them, and get CPR advice at the same time. Looks like they come in around a grand. https://www.thedefibpad.co.uk/fully-automatic-defibrillators/
Jim, you really don’t have to worry about the semi automatic ones, both give full instructions on what to do. The only difference between the two is that with the semi automatic ones the bossy voice tells you to press the button if a shock is required whereas the fully automatic one just gives it. They really really are idiot proof.

Sorry Jim,

Didn't realise you were raising money for one. Only just starting reading this thread. I'm in.

As an aside, I get an auto defibrillator shock every month when the credit card bill arrives.(y)

Donation made as promised. Good luck.(y)

Have we got enough for 1 yet? If so when will we get it?

Still only 62%of the £2000 target raised. :(
Yes, but the target was to buy 2, so can we get one whilst we keep collecting?

Managed to donate now been trying for a few days such a good cause let's hope they never need to be used.

hopefully it's a case of a discount for buying more than one at a time

OK I give up. 3 days without another donation. Really disappointed that the target has only reached 63% in 2 weeks.:(

Last week a local crowd funding page was started with a £2000 target. It was to raise money for a gymnastics club after one of their members, (an 11 year old girl) was knocked down and killed outside her school.
In a few days over £3000 was raised.
Wonder if our target would be reached if someone had needed use of a defibrillator which wasn't available with the inevitable result?
