Yes and it’s not ever run by the thieving TFL it’s the same company as Emovis in Leeds

TFL used to be based in Brighton. No idea why a London business isn't based in London. They have now moved to Darlington as it is cheaper,I assume?

Well here we are again ! Crossed the Dartford crossing in December 2024 of which we had pre payed £5 for two crossings this time they have taken £5
So it all starts again, this must cost them a small fortune in time alone as Denise will grind the bastards down until they admit they are wrong and refund the money causing some twat a lot of shit

Actually it costs them nothing. They are paying the twats, whether they are picking their noses or emailing you. Same cost.

Why do you prepay? I just have my credit card linked and it automatically deducts £2.50 each time we cross, easy peasy, no interaction from me.

That’s not racist that’s the truth none of the operators speak ledgable English how can they be employed to do the job, apart from fitting employment criteria to keep numbers right.

On the 10th December 2023 I paid £5 for two pre paid crossing's for our annual trip south and return.
Our first crossing south 6th January our return 23rd March, now I have received a pcn for £3 for the March return crossing.
Which was already paid for, (I have paid that as they are ruthless in collecting money)
They have sent me an email stating I crossed on the 23rd December “I never did”
I have now spent over an hour on the phone and some 20 emails, they have refunded me £2 and a seperate 50 p but they still owe me 50pence.
So one department says I did cross on the 23/12/23 and the other says there is no record of a crossing on that date for my vehicle.
Are these people a bunch of clowns ? Not one of the operators I spoke to on the phone had a good understanding of the English language and the emails I have received in reply must have been sent by their children
At the end of the day they owe me 50 pence and I want it, if I owed them 50 pence they would hound me and have me in court B*********S

The cheque arrived for the grand total of 50p it must have cost them a small fortune in time answering e mails and phone calls,
But as I said to them if I owed them 50p they would hound me so I did the same.
I was not taking no for an answer

This isn’t a fail safe option either. I have the automatic account and had 2 charges within a minute of each other for the same crossing. It did get refunded after I complained but took a couple of weeks.

We had an account with credit on it, but they closed it because we only did two crossings a year, we now use a dear friends account that probably like many people only do two crossings a year. Bob.

They usually only close it if you haven't used it for 12 months so if you only did 2 crossings a year it was possible there was a 12 month period unused hence the closure.

When COVID hit and I knew we weren't going to be travelling via it for 12 months from our last crossing I closed it myself and got a refund of the unused credit, since then I just have an auto-pay account.

Ensure you not only get your money back, but also invoice them for the time and effort.

We live locally, we probably also only used it twice a year.
But I would still open an account even if the usage was once in 5 years.

It saves a LOT of hassle, you get an email every time you cross, so unless your plate has been cloned you are unlikely to get spurious charges.

Once you have an account you put not only your own vehicles on the account, but also any close family,
it's far better your son-in-law owes you £2.50 than the family getting hit by bailiffs.
