Crit'Air sticker and 2023 rule changes

Still not working, five more attempts and got my wife to check code each time! Will try tomorrow on a PC, thanks for the help anyway.
Sorted now, possibly a website glitch? Despite my V5 doc being well under 2mb, I compressed it anyway so maybe that played a part as well.

I have exactly the same issue. Using Chrome or Safari on a Mac but also same result using my iPhone. Anyone else have a clue or is it just a flakey site?

I'm currently completing the Crit Air application on the official French Website. I'm populating the data for a UK registered Van and one of the mandatory fields is 'Serial Number' - Anyone have any idea what this is? VIN Number ??

Interesting that you couldn't find the English version of the CritAir site - using Firefox the top right of the screen has FR, EN and DE options.

For the Germany one from Berlin I just filled in what I could and copied my V5 front and first inside page and attached it where it tells you to on the website, I had to compress the file size though as it only allows a small file attachment size , paid my 5 euros to complete, having said that 3 weeks later I still have nothing back 😲

Did the same for my French one..compressed the files to fit as they were too big..filled in form on line paid €5ish euros and relieved a message same day , got sticker 3 weeks later...very surprised....😄😄

Hi all
I have tried to complete the form today but have run into this issue and wondered if anyone else has come across it?

I've put in the date first registered (5/8/2016) and the engine rating Euro 5 (from the Certificate of Conformity) and get the following error message, 'The first registration date and the the engine rating are incompatible'. To get past this ive tried putting in Euro 4. no change but if I put in Euro 6, then I can proceed. Shall I just go with Euro 6??

Thanks

Don't put the engine rating In they will then go by the year of registration you will get a yellow no2 sticker

In 2023, several French cities will tighten their traffic rules in their low emission zones (ZFE). Eleven cities will ban vehicles classified as Crit'Air 5, or even Crit'Air 4 for some of them.

In France, diesel & petrol vehicles are increasingly subject to traffic restrictions . Each vehicle must display a “Crit'Air” sticker indicating its category of greenhouse gas emissions. The category goes from 0 to 6 depending on the year of production of the vehicle and the type of fuel used. “0” ‘vignettes’ are assigned to electric or hydrogen vehicles, whilst “5” stickers are granted to diesel vehicles registered between 1997 and 2000. Go to the 'Useful Info' page for more info or you can check in which category your vehicle falls by doing an online simulation on the government website.

Compulsory for driving in town , Crit'Air vignettes are also essential during pollution peaks . More recently, we have seen the appearance of Low Emission Zones (ZFE) in most major French cities. These are areas (generally town centres) where car traffic is limited and reserved for the least polluting vehicles . According to the regulations, it is the highest Crit'Air who do not have the right of way. This is to reduce the circulation of the most polluting vehicles, in order to protect air quality and the well-being of local residents. For this year, 2023, the municipalities that will be changing their regulations are:

  • Metropolis of Lyon : ban on Crit'Air 5 vehicles. The system of fines (€68) begins on January 1 , 2023.
  • Greater Paris : ban on Crit'Air 4. Crit'Air 3 will be banned on July 1 , 2023.
  • Grenoble : ban on Crit'Air 5
  • Marseille : ban on Crit'Air 5. Crit'Air 4 will be banned on September 1 , 2023.
  • Montpellier : ban on Crit'Air 5
  • Nice : ban on Crit'Air 5
  • Reims : ban on Crit'Air 4
  • Rouen : ban on Crit'Air 5
  • Saint-Étienne : ban on Crit'Air 5
  • Strasbourg : ban on Crit'Air 5
  • Toulouse : ban on Crit'Air 4

I cannot speak for the other citys, but I have always found the trams in montpellier pretty good, although can be busy at peek times.

Also just a tip, the family ticket is 6€ for a 24 hour period starting from when you use it, and although it says family it is valid for 5 people, you dont have to be related.

I would guess that was because Euro 5 was supposed to be phased out by 05/08/16. I have a VW T6 which was not registered until November 2016 but built in April 2016 thus not having Adblue, DPF etc.
Stickers for this vehicle are..
Crit'air for France = 2
Umweltplakette for Germany = 4

I have my crit air certificate, 2015 fiat ducatto Euro 5. It came back as a 2.

Quick question … is there a specific place on the windscreen to display the sticker?

Warning regarding the sticker. The ink used, is the glue to fix it onto the window. I had to have a new windscreen and so photocopied the Critaire sticker. Try as I might I failed to get the size right, so carried an oversized copy until this year when I ordered a new one

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that the zones are controlled by number plate recognition, the window sticker is purely there for any police checks when you are parked, and even a photocopy in the windscreen shouldn't be a problem as long as it is readable.

still having trouble downloading my reg document to both French & German sites the box for uploading was blank even though I'd attached it. Sent the form off anyway assuming they'd inform me if it was missing, had an email back 2 mins later with order confirmation & attached to the bottom of the email was a copy of the reg doc file so it must have gone through??????

I've just realised that the Crit Air isn't the same as the Euro emissions for many. I'm Crit Air 4 and Euro IV so presumed they were the same thing and Rouen making HGV Crit Air 5 the minimum I thought I may struggle. Every day is a schoolday and I'll carry on through Rouen in my Crit Air 4 😀

They will just use the date of registration.
However it will be on your Certicate of Conformity.
I've got a 1994 B584, tried to input my details but the results come back saying vehicle not eligible for a crit air sticker. Any ideas?

What happens with pre 1997 vehicles, as I have a 1994?

So I applied for French & German ones online yesterday, tried to attach pdf of my reg document but it looked like nothing showed up as attached. Decided to send it anyway & got an email from the French office this morning with official confirmation of compliance and informing me sticker is in post 😀 just got to wait for the German one now.

The German one only allows you to attach a certain size of document, if it’s too big nothing is attached , but it tells you it is too big and try again .

Took about 3 weeks to get ours from Berlin , copied the front and first inside page of V5 and sent it off no problem.
