I believe that, if you take out more (or renew) within a few months (maybe 6, else 3) they will refund the £30.Comfort underwriters are Aviva are you sure it is Comfort
From Comfort's policy:
Alternatively, if you wish to cancel and the insurance cover has already commenced, you will be entitled to a refund
of the premium paid, less a proportionate deduction for the time we have provided cover. Comfort Insurance will
also charge a fee of £30.00 to cover our administrative costs (plus Insurance Premium Tax, where applicable).
Likewise, they insured it fully comprehensive from pick up (in Germany and not yet registered in UK) but no theft cover till tracker fitted. I drove it straight from Germany to Vanbitz for tracker and alarm to be fitted.I got a fortnight's grace with them for fitting the tracker to a new van.
Yes they did that last time we changed vans.I believe that, if you take out more (or renew) within a few months (maybe 6, else 3) they will refund the £30.
Generally you pay extra for monthly but not with NFU. It’s one of their benefits.Agreed… 29.9% loading for monthly (or whatever) errrrrr NO thanks!
Bear in mind that for a new van, Comfort (Aviva) offer 3 years old replacement as new whereas most others it's 12 months and then wear and tearI've been with Comfort for 13 years always found them good had a claim about 10 years ago, no increase in premium after.
But yesterday I phoned them for an idea on the cost of the new van due in a few months looks like I won't be using them. They wanted £1000 and a tracker & alarm fitted before it leaves the dealer.
Thats why there's a 14 day cooling off period on private insurance - starting when the buyer has all of the documentation. Most online sales offer downloadsI went for a policy from Adrian Flux once, but on reading the small print when the post arrived, I rang to cancel it.
Was told I had to pay their admin costs! After a request to speak to a manager, which never happened and a long wait on the phone, they gave me a full refund.

How are you meant to see the policy when buying online?.
Now with Saga on a fixed 3 year deal, but when that ends???
Not necessarily, for many they have a clause than even if you cancel within the 14 day period you still have to pay the broker's arrangement fee.Thats why there's a 14 day cooling off period on private insurance - starting when the buyer has all of the documentation. Thats illegal under FCA rules. Insurers are allowed to charge a proportion of the 14 days that they were on cover. The broker would need water-tight t's & c's to circumvent. A threat to query with the FCA would soon have that removedNot necessarily, for many they have a clause than even if you cancel within the 14 day period you still have to pay the broker's arrangement fee.
I just avoided using them, I always read the brokers Ts&Cs as well as the insurers before purchasing anything.Thats illegal under FCA rules. You READ the small print.........I just avoided using them, I always read the brokers Ts&Cs as well as the insurers before purchasing anything.
Same here. Changed just 4 months ago and got a proportional refund. Policy was with Aviva.I was with comfort sold the van a couple of weeks ago and got a pro-rata refund and the policy had been in place more than 120 daydays
Of course... I used to be a PA and my boss was notorious for getting stuff wrong so I check everything! You READ the small print.........
But only up to 15000 miles so not much better than a year.Bear in mind that for a new van, Comfort (Aviva) offer 3 years old replacement as new whereas most others it's 12 months and then wear and tear
We had insurance with CMC we sold the van and CMC refunded the remaining months. Excellent service.I sold my UK registered motorhome yesterday. The new owner arranged his insurance so I phoned Comfort Insurance today to cancel the policy which does not expire until mid August.
I was informed that the policy is underwritten by LV and as the policy had been in force for over 120 days there would be NO REFUND!
I was told there is no appeal to this ripoff, under the term and conditions there will be no refund! (Pease no smart aleck comments about how I should have read umpteen pages of fine print)
Anyone considering taking out insurance with Comfort should be aware and clarify with them this 120 day no refund rule.
What's this fixes 3 year deal? Do they cover Morocco,? Do thir breakdown cover apply to motorhomes over 20 years old.? Many thanks.I went for a policy from Adrian Flux once, but on reading the small print when the post arrived, I rang to cancel it.

It sounds like you are trying to insure a MH that is worth more than £100k, as that is the response we had from Comfort too.I've been with Comfort for 13 years always found them good had a claim about 10 years ago, no increase in premium after.
But yesterday I phoned them for an idea on the cost of the new van due in a few months looks like I won't be using them. They wanted £1000 and a tracker & alarm fitted before it leaves the dealer.
Yes as they have to deposit an amount of money for each complaint . At 500 a time it soon adds up.A threat to query with the FCA would soon have that removed
I've always been with you brother.Never had any problems with Comfort. Great company, highly recommended, would use them again any time.
Yes, I asked for a quote on £125k, it surprised me as that is not even an expensive Motorhome these days.It sounds like you are trying to insure a MH that is worth more than £100k, as that is the response we had from Comfort too.
It makes no sense!! Given the comments on here I was all ready to change but then they gave me a quote with just £55 increase over the previous year so I took it. We have a Pilote insured at £63k kept on a secure site (a farm with caravan and motorhome storage). The van has an alarm and tracker but I think thats something that Comfort insist on for all customers. Have you tried calling them?I've always been with you brother.
I've been with Comfort for more than 14 years and they have been very good - Not today
