Christmas in Spain (or Portugal?)

It's all down hill from your villa, ๐Ÿ˜€ we cycled to Moraira via Teulada last weekend and came back over Cumbre del Sol and Granadella park .๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ™‚
A friend cycled to Benidorm from Javea came back with his bike in a taxi said he got a puncture we think he let it down. ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜€ Bob.
I smell electric bikes ๐Ÿค”

Whats the weather like in Bonterra December time?

Pleasant during the day maybe 20 degrees... as soon as darkness falls.... cold. Mainly sunny days. We have had 1 big storm, Gloria, in our time there. 3 days long with 24 hours of solid heavy rain and plenty of wind. Better than the UK by a country mile though in general

Definitely shorts and T shirts weather daytime. But after maybe 4.30pm fleeces required if sitting outside and after 6pm.... too bloody cold to be sitting out unless well oiled either enjoying happy hour or socialising.

What route are you taking down to Bonterra?
You will probably want to take the western France route avoiding the Massif Central route then cross to the Med coast from level with Bordeaux or thereabouts then down the Spanish Med coast. This avoids the possibility of snow in France and across the high central plateau of Spain. We run... Calais....Rouen... Limoges...Carcassonne... turn south at coast then...... Bonterra

Villasol is the closest to the town and the weekly market is just a few hundred yards down towards the town but I understand they are doing some renovation work on thier site so probably have fewer spaces.Arena blanca is further away but still is a nice walk to town, but there are plenty of local buses at I think 1.5 euros now .
Sheddy is currently at villasol and I believe Ditcha is planning on staying at Arena Blanca. (y)
Thinking of booking villasol for christmas but concerned that the work on site will ruin the stay, is it that bad, can you tell me please?

Yes, that's roughly what we're doing. What date are you going?

Yeah remember the last happy hour (or two) with you guys was in a right state left my phone and couldn't remember what pitch we were on ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿป

That's the whole point of happy hour... yes we did enjoy those couple of afternoons:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::drinks::hugs:

So are we. We are booked on the 12:50 but hoping to arrive early and put on an earlier one. Hope we can make La Mailleraye before it is too dark.
We're on the 0420 hours as we like to get a full days drive in and the days are short as you are aware...

My mate left Villasol on friday after a 7/8 week stay, they were in the 400โ€™s and said the work did not spoil their enjoyment at all ๐Ÿ‘

Is it correct that dog owners are asked to sign a contract to agree not to let their dogs wee or poo on site? I get the poo bit but how do you stop a dog from doing a pee and what happens if it does especially if you're not near the entrance?

We didn't have to at Bonterra but I have heard that some sites are a bit twitchy about that.

Paul it's a nightmare with the dog they say dog friendly and take your money but they really don't want dogs the night watchman used to follow us up to the rear gate on a morning just to make sure no accidents we intended staying a couple of weeks but only stayed one couldn't be bothered with the hassle.

We have never had any hassle at Bonterra, yes we sign a form but no one bothers us, we would clean up anyway if our dog had an accident, itโ€™s just a precaution because of irresponsible dog owners

Who wouldn't clean up after their dog we certainly do but we never felt comfortable always felt like we were watched and as for the amount of shit on the cycle path outside certainly no body picked up there.

Didn't think villasol accepted dogs.
We didnโ€™t take her on that trip, so we thought we would stay there, it was noisy dirty , the pool looked amazing ๐Ÿคฉ and then it was downhill from there. Moved to Alicante Imperium, 1000 times better

It's the Spaniards that are the problem not the visiters. I saw one who had a container with poo bags on his lead he watched the dog poo right next to a picnic table in a park and just walked off.

Personally not had to sign anything at Bonterra but have had a finger wagged and a head shaken at me by the night watchman as per Ditcha comment although we never followed
