Rally Chester Rally Easter 2016.

A great weekend for the reasons said by so many above. Thanks to all involved. I did chicken out and get the tractor driver, hooked up and off within 2 minutes of the wave.

A big thanks to Carol and Eddie, Jim and Sian, Haganap, Techno and the bacon buttie team. You all done a marvellous job in making it a great rally. Thanks to @Terry for having our dinner all cooked and ready on our arrival. it was much appreciated!

Glad we made the journey down even though I was tired and it was a long one home. Was good to meet up with old friends and put another few faces to names/chatters.. though I must admit Popeye and Shiftzz were nothing like what I expected them to be. They come across as oldies but don't let them kid you , they are far from it!
Did you meet the same @Popeye and @ShiftZZ as me, the ones I met were old men they even fell asleep during the quiz. :)

A big thank you to Carol & Eddie, Jim & Sian and everyone else who was involved in organising this weekends Chester rally.
We really enjoyed ourselves and met some new faces.

We loved it so much that we asked to be about the sixth van left to be towed off field by the tractor!

By the way, did anyone have problems picking up a satellite signal?
Our Oyster Caro just spun and spun. We gave it up in the end.
It was a choice of read my wife's magazine, talk to her or go to bed. I was in bed by 930pm!
And to cap it off I forgot my mobile and tablet so couldn't even post on here.

Managed to get home about 19:30 after a few hold ups on the Motorway, came home to a message on the answering machine from the Proclaimes managers asking if @JockandRita and me would like to do a few shows as they've double booked. :)

We have an Oyster system ,not a caro, and had the same problem at the NEC a few weeks ago.I rang Oyster on 01858 575928 and spoke to a guy called Anthony who was extremely helpful.he talked me through a long procedure and hey presto sat working again.
Hope this helps.

A great big THANK YOU from Steve and myself to all those who organised the Chester Rally! It was a great event, one we will certainly like to attend again! We were made to feel very welcome with many introducing themselves, both Newbies and Old pro's! Great that we weren't the only Newbies, and we learnt loads from the many we spoke to! Are looking forward to meeting you all again at future meets.
Steve just had to try and get off the field...he got about 2 feet...and that was a generous assessment of length!! Thank goodness for the tractor!! We did find our towing eye under the seat...@Jim...and thank you to the other Autotrail owner we spoke to about this! Sorry can't remember your name/avatar! (Please advise if you read this!)
See you all again
Happy travels!!
Steve and Kathryn

Our first rally, and what a welcome we received from all. It really lived up to the name "Fun" all weekend. Thanks to all the organisers and doers for a very entertaining time and being able to meet up and enjoy it with you was marvellous. We have made some lovely friends, in particular Anthea M and Rob, and our neighbours Kathryn and Steve, sorry we shot off this morning without saying goodbye to you but it was before you got up!! There was a great sense of community with the pushers for the front wheel drive vans this morning before the tractor turned up but I should say sorry for the smug look on my face when our rear wheel drive Hymer drove off site under its own power!! Finally thanks to Carol and Eddie for your help in putting names to faces last night at the karaoke. We hope everyone gets home safely and we look forward to meeting up again soon.

Enjoyed your company too and it all made a great weekend! We cheered as you set off and fair raced down the field on own without the tractor!! We waited for the tractor and loved watching it all!!see you soon.

I imagine all that weight is way beyond the design strength of the floor and furniture. It sounds nice and cosy but I would not do it :Eeek:

It was lovely to meet you too @XRN Rob and Susan! We stayed up late with kids doing a 1000 piece puzzle, so we missed your smugness! Well done for not needing the tractor...we were well impressed when we saw your space next to us, and presumed you had done it on your own.
All the best, and hope we can meet up again. Keep in touch!
Best wishes

@ciderman, after entertaining us on the Karaoke so royally in the evening was now desperate to catch his plane to Benidorm later in the day and tried sneaking off site at 0650 Monday, he then proceeded to wake the whole site with 2 hours of futile digging, cursing, crying, pushing, track-laying and endless revving, all the while getting deeper and deeper into the mire. After 2 hours he collapsed; exhausted. and while sobbing uncontrollably, he finally resolved to wait for the tractor.

Showing him how it should have been done, I gave him a big smile as I drove past him with my 7 tons of motorhome and a 2 ton trailer making light work of the mud. He waved at me, well I think it was a wave! When the tractor finally pulled him off the field I took a picture and saw that wave again.

Hopefully he and maria will be feeling better and reading this in Benidorm :)

Hi Hope you got home ok, we have had a good bit of snow in Blackburn this morning, so luckily travelled home Monday.
