It's only the CL network that keeps me in the CAMC. Their IT "dept" is an absolute joke.

You're just a big killjoy!Always descends into the same old, same old arguments/debate...
Those who shudder at the thought of using either of the two club sites & do everything they can to denigrate the organisations...
... and those who pay the membership, and are generally happy with the services provided.
Luckily, there's no element of obligation... owning a Motorhome doesn't mean you have to subscribe to either club
it isn’t……..??!!How would they know that a peg isn't just for keeping your washing on the line?
It's getting worse!it isn’t……..??!!
Arrrggg…that be a fine looking cutlassIt's getting worse!
You've even got to explain the simplest of things to some folk nowadays!
Just so you know it's the right one!

But what be caught in her fishnets is much more fine!Arrrggg…that be a fine looking cutlass
idiots..We are off to Bristol at the weekend. I was already thinking it was a rip off at £45 per night for 2 people. Only going because its where I grew up and the site is shutting soon.
Just received an email to say they are increasing prices due to electricity costs. not only that - they are asking us not to use the electricity as much as possible!!! (please use your solar instead!)
Back to CL sites in future.
However the UK's CL network is growing really fast. Motorhomefun have exempted 22 this year just in Scotland
You not patriotic then.??ripoff uk
I have a "little black book"!When researching a couple of possible trip itineraries recently I got the feeling that CAMC prices were a fair bit steeper than previously. I don’t know how to check what their prices were in recent years so at the moment it’s just a hunch but even for short stays out of high season it’s getting quite expensive. Add to that high fuel prices and caravanning no longer feels like a ‘cheap’ holiday (if it ever was). Like others, I’m inclined to CLs more these days and some commercial sites seem reasonable compared with CAMC. Going to keep copies of my booking receipts from now on.
Though, for some reason, the UK seems to have the highest increase despite it's oil reserves and large electricity generation capacity.and how much has the cost of that increased by over the past couple of months?
Way of the world at the moment.
Anyone wanting to use CLs/Certificated Sites instead of the increasing and almost exorbitant club sites also has to pay the relevant membership fee. A fact of life I know but it does make me look more and more at small private sites.Always descends into the same old, same old arguments/debate...

Blimey you must be desperate if a pound a week is to much, hahaAnyone wanting to use CLs/Certificated Sites instead of the increasing and almost exorbitant club sites also has to pay the relevant membership fee. A fact of life I know but it does make me look more and more at small private sites.
Jim is there such a list easily available. It would be very useful and Im sure many on here would like to support them if they knew where they were.Is there a list on here of sites authorised by MF? It would be nice to support them.
Good to see the MF intelligence corps is on it. There’s a huge amount of knowledge and experience in a group like this. If there was a pinned thread with ‘bargain’ sites they’d get over-used and difficult to get into - a bit like the CAMC’s ‘CL of the Year’. Better a list of ‘rip-off’ prices but then that’s subjective. I kind of understand commercial sites charging what the market will stand but a ‘club’ shouldn’t do that. And I’m not sure it’s right to allow non-members access to club sites but that’s a whole new debate. I think a closer look at their annual reports and financial statements might be in order.I have a "little black book"!
I record date, pitch, price how many nights. Where's good for the sun.
And how good is EE and o2 signals
Also good walks and pubs.
If you ask "Jim" he may have a book for most of this.
I pay my CAMC membership too so I feel I have as much right to an opinion as any other member. Site fees appear to have increased considerably in the last couple of years and it’s not beyond the bounds of possibilities that financial reserves are being restocked. The millions the CAMC keeps in its kitty came in useful during the pandemic I’m sure. However, today’s financial pressures squeeze many families who, relatively, are asset rich (their outfits) and income poor. If it comes to the point where ‘The Smiths’ can’t afford caravan holidays because of pricey pitches and fuel then we need to ask some questions.Bristol CAMC is expensive due to its location.
Most CAMC sites are a bit more than half that. Whilst CAMC are far from perfect, I would be sad not to have them which is why I pay my membership. If you feel otherwise, just leave.
I think it's pitiful that people with outifts costing more than an average years wage complain about site costs and fuel costs. As for electricity, yes we should take responsibility, be frugal and we should use our solar first, at home and on the road to minimise how much Putin's gas the world continues to have to buy. Why wouldn't you?
I think the non member access is part of the agreement with landlord or local authority most times as not all sites allow them.Good to see the MF intelligence corps is on it. You seem to assume to know everyone's circumstances with that statement? How does a persons MH somehow justify being ripped off left right and centre for everything? (mainly in terms of fuel costs currently, when the barrel price has been consistently dropping for quite a while now).I think it's pitiful that people with outifts costing more than an average years wage complain about site costs and fuel costs.
