Thank you for this. I have hust paid for 2 test kits and it has all gone very well with email replies with booking reference for our passenger locator forms when crossing into the UK. £35.99 each. That's more like it !

Have your kits arrived (from Expert Medicals)? Ours paid for on 19th and website says fulfilled. DPD say they are expecting them but no sign of any update which seems to be common on Trustpilot.

We are travelling on 5th September and had hoped they would be here before we left.

What we did/are doing.

For the test before returning to the UK.
A lateral flow test from c19testing at £29. Inc next day postage
Buy test at any time and can take it with you. Just do the test in your own time and photo the result next to your passport, send that to them. They then email you a certificate.

Day 2&8 PCR test by expert medical. £70 plus & £8 postage (£78 is the pair of tests) or £28 plus £8 postage for single test.
Pre order and don’t do anything with test till required, apart from use numbers on the required forms.
Then. Go online register the test with them. Open packet shove cotton bud to back of throat, then up nostril. Poke cotton bud in tube. Seal tube writing info on tube, tube in bag. Write info on bag. Put bag with tube in provided postage bag. Apply their label take to postbox. Then forget all about because no one cares what happens with your day 2 Test.

We are doing a 5 day pay money, go to work sooner test. We are going to our local airport for these as they work 24/7, so can get tested and a result the same day even though it’s a Sunday. That way we only loose three day work at home. Two companies doing it one about £60 each, other £90 each (faster)

Great info. thanks. Can you tell me how big the test package is for the day 2 test. We think we'll have left before it will be delivered and we have only an average sized postbox (no letterbox in door).

Tiny. A4 size plastic bag but all floppy apart from a tube inside about the size of a smarties tube.
