Black Tank Emptying Map

I think those with macerator toilets and black tanks would be the last to put wet wipes in the toilet. They'd end up wrapped around the macerator blades and it's not fun to remove said items!

Mad. Keep the solids and liquids separate and save yourselves all the worry and grief.

There would appear to be some concern about the sparsity of available emptying points for black tanks, otherwise why the original post?
If you keep the solids and liquids separate then the opportunities for emptying are vast.

Not sure what you mean about keeping them separate ?

The choices are cassette or black tank. Cassette easy to find somewhere to empty but has to be done often

Black tank - easier to empty ant a ground level point which are more scarce in the U.K (hence the map) but only needs to be done I’ve ever week or two

Cassette or black tank? I understand, because that’s the commonly held belief, but there are alternatives.

Let’s say I’m on a mission, especially when I see what is happening around areas unable to provide the correct chemical disposal facilities.

A search for urine diverting toilets will give some insight.

Some further additions to the map plus all the places with white markers now have website addresses attached.

Added to the map thanks

I have recently updated the map - there are now 260 "to the ground" emptying points listed, the latest being in Northern Ireland and located just outside a caravan park so available for all to use.

The map, as always, can be found HERE

If you want to send me any additional suggestions for this map or the ones I maintain for 'Parking large motorhomes at NT and Heritage properties" or "Vets offering EU passsports" then I will endeavour to add them to the map.

Hi

You may have seen the map I do for parking larger motorhomes at National Trust sites ( click here to view the map )

I have another map which up to now has shown all the C and CC and CAMC sites with motorhome service points. I now want to extend this to start adding any locations where simple 'to the ground' black tank emptying is available. Just popped the first one on the map as it is where I am tonight in France - these will be the white markers on the map.

So, if anyone would like to contribute locations I can add to this resource which is available to anyone to use then please keep them coming just like you have with the National Trust and Heritage sites

The black tank map as it stands now with 226 entries just click HERE

Thanks!

This site has a ground level black waste disposal (with tap near), you will need some hose to reach it though 15ft ish.

Nice site with good access - were 8.6m

There is a council black waste disposal facility at the public toilets in Saltburn, North Yorkshire just to the side of the toilet block

👍👍

I would hate to use a service point where someone had emptied black waste into the open grid-covered channel that seems to be provided for grey waste. Maybe I have misunderstood some of the opinions expressed here?

I use a pee bottle which seems to serve the same purpose. My cassette needs emptying far less frequently and is much less smelly. I feel that there are many desolate areas of countryside where emptying a pee bottle is safe and not a nuisance. Is there a specific law against it? (Impossible in towns?)
