Best private reg

Finding a reg with my initials is hard and usually expensive, so I went for one with a Z. One of my other ones is from the local area where I grew up, now on its third car. The wee one, which I have had since 1993, is also on its third car and this was when I used to go camping with it.

I know some people hate them but in my mind I have just seen the best . Followed a kontiki of the ferry at Santander and its plate read
A Big Kon (ab 16 kon )
Well it tickled me ,😂
Very many years ago I bought TOY777 for a sports car I had. It would have been good on my camper.

This is on my Smart car tow-car , if you squint a bit it does look like Mr Smart ! , I bought the number plate and the whole car it was on (non runner and was dismantled for parts eventually) for £400 !

To add to the PEN 15 debate, during the '80s and '90s I regularly saw a light blue sports car, (maybe a Porsche), around Chester with the reg PEN 1S. DVLA website doesn't recognise this plate. Wondering if some people just made up their number before the flood of ANPR cameras etc.

Currently have R CL45S on retention. Originally on a Mercedes R Class but looking to sell, perhaps Royal Class, Regal Class, Right Class or many other options?🧐😊

Our MoHo was mainly bought for towing the Rallycross car and the reg for that is RA11 YXA (Rallycrosser)
The best one we've seen on the road was an equestrian vehicle with the registration plate of HO55 BOX !

Yes they certainly did as it was a fine and no penalty points, around £30, we had a motor dealer near us who used the same number plate on all his vehicles, cars and bikes and just paid the fine and made sure that the tax disc had the right number on and miraculously produced the correct number plate from the top box or boot when stopped as he had * Forgotten to put it on leaving the forecourt!*

The DVLA used to auction number plates, I assume they still do. At one time the most expensive was WE57 HAM, at £57K, I used to regularly see it on an Audi parked at Upton Park. One of my mates reckoned he knew the guy who owned it.

One of my all times faves was on a corporate visit and a Renault parked in the Works Convenor spot (yes, own parking space) had the plate A11 OUT…. Says it all about our Union culture for too many years

A lot of years ago back in the 70s we were out with some friends. The male had been quite successful and bought himself Porsche and private plate 4 … (his three initials). He was quite a bragger and telling us about it and claimed the plate alone had cost him £2000, a lot of money back then.
My wife who unfortunately is no longer with us looked him straight in the eye and said ‘You must be more stupid than I thought. You’ve been ripped off. I had to replace a number plate and it only cost a pound’ We all fell off our chairs laughing. He didn’t see the funny side 😂😂

Whilst looking to purchase our first moho, we visited a large dealership over Lincoln way and one of the staff kindly showed us around the workshop. I started to crease up laughing and my wife asked “what?”. I pointed across to a large tag axle Mercedes motorhome which was presumably in for a service or repair and had the number plate………………………………….……………………………………………..OR61YES
You’d certainly run a mile if it parked next to you on a site (or that’s what I told my better half, anyway!)

still got the same number plate three letters three numbers that was issued on my first motorhome a Bedford CA & has been transfers on every motorhome I'v had, its nothing special but at least I can remember it

Mary Millington who owned a sex shop in Soho in the 1970's often parked her large pink Rolls Royce in Wardour Street.

It's number plate was appropriately PEN15.
