Benidorm for a first timer

You were lucky to be able to drive down the street where as you say drunks we're swaying,,,Not a route you would use if just passing through.BUSBY.
Well, it's true we checked the town out by driving through and didn't like it. Don't shoot me for disliking row and row of bars and half naked young people falling all over the place. Knock yourself out if you like that (y)Like I said 2003, maybe it has changed now but I really don't care.

It’s not all like that.

Really? I need to talk to people who know Benidorm better than my younger beer swilling days gone by :ROFLMAO: coz I was one of them as a teenager(y)

It has never been like that in the months December to end of March Gina, during the several years we have been going................and we don't expect it either this coming winter.

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Gina, what time of year did you visit? Most of us visit in the winter, when the more unruly holidaymakers are not there.

I think it takes on a different mood in the winter months. We love wandering the streets, the promenade, the Old Town, and have never been troubled by drunkards.

The sky is blue, the weather is warm, and the atmosphere everywhere is of people enjoying themselves.

Each to their own, but we love Beni, as do a lot of other Funsters here.

Early August. The way you describe it now, sounds like I would love it, as a no longer teenager :giggle:(y) Thank you for taking the time to explain the difference to me.

Honestly Gina, it's like the difference between chalk and cheese. You'd probably love it over winter.

Some Funsters come out just for the week/fortnight, staying in a hotel or an apartment, and meet up with those of us who are there long term in our MHs. It's a great atmosphere.

Even on St Patrick's Day in March, where the town centre is absolutely awash with green and clovers, etc, the atmosphere is great, and with no trouble at all. (y) We love it. :)

Our daughter flew out to surprise her mother on Mothering Sunday, and loved it so much, she arranged to go back again herself, at the same time of year.

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Yes there are rows and rows of bars ,but you don't have to go in them all to enjoy yourself. (y)

Last time I was in Benidorm was 1971 my first holiday abroad and loved it but might not appeal to me now as prefer Moraira.
My Son in law and friends have just returned from a 3 nighter and were enjoying Jeagerbombs and full English for breakfast so apologise for anyone who met them.

Younger sister has lived and still works in Beni, has been for the last 15 years. On our visits (it was 20 mins from our villa) we loved it, BUT, i was always happy to get back to Busot/El-Campello.

I stayed at El Raco, excellent site and helpful staff.
Everywhere I've been I've had great neighbours so that helps being a solo traveler.
I thought Benidorm was fun, I spent a lot of time cycling around and people watching, it was interesting, it was fiesta week so lots of Spanish around to even things up.

Loved it when I was younger, but all we saw were drunks swaying around the place,........(y)
Easy to get pie-eyed when Consum and Mercadona (other supermarkets are available) are selling a litre of lager for 90¢.

We'll soon be there arrive on 20th Dec we have used Arena Blanca for a long time although it doesn't allow pets - we don't have one now a days

We have never been for winter and are looking forward to not cooking for over a month
Yes in the summer you get the larger swilling idiots but we did Fiesta a few years back before Covid and that's totally different so looking forward to yet another different side of Benidorm and find out about the 3 kings celebration

Who else will we see around Beni then ?

We won’t be seeing you anyway as you hate the place 🤣
I used to but now I am getting messages convincing me I need to give it a second chance, if my dogs aren't welcome, then it's Adios mis amigos:whistle2:

Very talented lady unfortunately retired now, once seen never forgotten. 🥲
We saw a Thai sticky Vicki in Thailand, my husband wanted to go into a sex bar where girls perform tricks with their bits, I suggested he go on his own or with some other guys, but he wanted me to go in with him (maybe he was hoping I would pick up some hints and tricks) anyways it was a shocker:X3: as we left he turned to me and said "well, that did nowt for me":ROFLMAO:

Dogs are no problems on Arena Blanca and they are free 🥳

Dogs are encouraged on Torreta too. They have to be the type that yap yap all day though, or alternatively the loud guard dog type bark all night is acceptable 👌😉😛

Bob some nice walking/hiking up and around the caves in Busot.

Yes we have done some walking around there, we normally go in the motorhome, but this visit we are going in the car, giving us more flexibility to explore. 😎 Bob.
