We have just bought a 2016 Autosleeper Warwick XL. The previous owner has remover the Avtex AMR985 modem but left the aerial etc. I can't appear to be able to buy just the modem any suggestions to an alternative unit which will plug into the aerials and preferably into the holder which was also left.

I’ve got it set on this APN for roaming
mob.asm.net

Do you think I would gain much by changing to a zte mu5001
Yeah thats the correct apn for smarty. Some devices use the three ones on smart sims which only work when in UK (not roaming) but slower than a three sim. So it's not an APN issue.

Ref; mu5001 -> can't really say as it's a personal choice -> overall it would work faster in future and it is quite cheap on ebay given it supports 5g, which your cat7 does not. It also offers potentially faster 4g speeds as can use a newer encoding when it has good signal providing the cell tower supports it. I'm on the older (but more expensive) cat12 ZTE device, and all I can say is I did get faster speed in Canterbury than you are experiencing -> at the CACC site on outskirts of town, as we spent a week and a bit there over Christmas. It was certainally good enough for both streaming of live football as well as device use ... but I wouldnt' call it as good as I have had in other cities (Cambridge even during term time was significantly better at the CACC site there).

Likely best bet is to order some additional sims before you upgrade though, as with a cat7 thats on my "still acceptable" list -> it's plenty fast enough in most areas you would motorhome given it's able to avoid a lot of congestion with it's band support. It's probably just Three in your current canterbury area being bad on your local tower.

Yes I think I may try a 1p mobile sim which use ee , it’s a monthly sim so not tied in to a contract.
Thanks for you advice
