Are rallies legal after the 4th July?

Barry Island and Barry town have opened public loos. I think it was a good move as people are going to the beach so it will stop them doing doo's on the beach. 💩
Wales is not open as yet,In Cardiff public loos even with the shops open are closed different approaches from different councils next door to each other............…...🤔
Only 11 days to wait until I will be on a campsite in England its not a Rally as we have made our own bookings so was called a meet. No Funster stickers on the vans please we just happen to be in the same place at the same time....🏖

The latest government advice is that it fine if it’s six of one and half a dozen of the other.

This post was started by Jim this morning after I hade visited the site so I did not see it. This afternoon, I as the Chairman of the Suntrecker Naturist Camping and Caravan Club had an online chat with the Caravan & Motorhome Club asking them if we are able to hold Rallies after the 4th July. The short answer from their advisor I spoke to after he went away to check was that they simply did not know!! and asked me to check again next week when they may have more information.

So I was quite interested to read how the Berkshire Center are going to run their rallies (see post 4). I think I will now contact Natural England who issued our exemption certificate and see what they say about the situation rather than be guided by the experts on here (NO disrespect meant).

My wife a former Corporate International Liability Insurance Broker is of the opinion that without explicit consent we may by authorising Suntrecker Rallies may void our Liability Insurance.

Is the Peterborough show going ahead end July I paid and booked for April so hope to go end July, also the Chesterfeast now the end of August also paid for that.I am 82 yrs old so worry about such things sorry

At the moment the CCC Out and About Live App is still showing all rallies in July CANCELLED but currently from 1/8 are open. I’ve been following it as we would normally be away now on several thru to 20 August. But have booked 2 CCC sites and 3 CS’s to take us to end July.

Theirs a bronze statue of a racehorse at Stratford Racecourse we can just say we are going to pull it down
Is that the horse that General Robert E Lee of Confederate fame used to ride.

Also, is a temporary holiday site different from a rally.

Because they are overwhelmed. A Major Incident has been declared for Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole beaches following yesterdays invasion. The authorities were unable to keep up with the drunkenness, fights, abuse, litter and illegal parking. Overnight campers were evicted. The result, visitors are no longer welcome.
In reality 1 person could clear it .It just depends on how many bodies you are worried about having & in the UK that would be none.

1 person leaving bodies behind is usually a terrorist, not a law enforcer.

I don't really see how a 'reasonable' amount of people on Bournemouth beach, which has always been popular, could have left the Council 33 tonnes of rubbish to clear up the day after - and that was just between the 2 piers. I therefore tend to think without reference to all the ridiculous places people were abandoning their vehicles (cos I don't believe they in truth actually parked them and I like to use the correct words) or any photos, that the number must have been un reasonable.

I said elsewhere today that 'this lot' for everyone worldwide, has been like the first day at school. None of us was 100% certain that we really wanted to go there, but we were told we didn't have a choice. Similarly again, different children could learn things at different speeds. 3 months later whilst some of us have already moved on and started doing our pluses and minuses - others still can't recite the alphabet let alone count up to 10.

I don't think that a fun sticker will be a problem, we probably won't all be together anyway. I was thinking it would help to tell who are funsters. Hopefully will see you there (y)

How do upcoming meets stand with this?..point 2? It doesn't relate to Scotland but what's your thoughts?

I think the main point in a covid rally is that we are not gathering in groups. Ie not gathering at all.
Vans at least 6m apart, no communal marquees or rooms, no sharing of stuff, food drinks etc. All social distancing outside vans.
And we are not sleeping in each others vans. Plus we are all self contained.
That's my take anyway.

Oh!! Latest Berkshire Centre C&MC update is
This afternoon we received a communication from the CAMC Head of Governance, Emma McQuillan, stating that the Club's Executive Committee has reviewed the current guidance and legislation with regards to "gatherings" and as these are unclear at this time they have decided that all rallies for July must be canceled.

Hope that's the end of the reversals.

Apparently the CaMH club has today decreed that rallies with more than 30 people will be deemed as gatherings in the eyes of the law and will be investigated by the police. Don't know where that leaves the Stratford rally?

I never realised it was them that made the rules.

Thanks for that Jim
I'll keep that piece of information in mind.

With seven weeks to go before Pershore there is still some wiggle room.

re Stratford. The article Jim quotes from states that campsites are allowed to open - the venue is a recognised campsite so it is "legal" to stay there. There is no mention about how many people may stay on that campsite, only a dictum that "gatherings" of more than 30 people are not permitted. So my next question is what, in HMG's opinion, makes a "gathering"? Twenty vans, parked at least 6m apart on a recognised campsite appears to be okay, thus the rally is okay. It would seem that only if occupants of said twenty vans "got together", even if practising social distancing, would it constitute an offence being committed.

Many of the rules and regulations propounded by HMG during this crisis have meant different people having different "takes" on what is or is not allowable, usually to "fit" their own circumstances and I'm not being critical about that. All I will offer is that we will be going to Stratford Racecourse campsite and will pay the owners/organisers on the gate. We will pitch in the area the owners/organisers have allocated, ensuring a minimum of 6m separation. It is not our intention to "gather" in any group of more than 6 people but I'm not discounting that we will likely enjoy chatting to other people with the allowable social distancing - which I believe is now 1m.

If anybody thinks any of that is not permitted, please publish the offical document which says so. Until they do I'm planning on having a much-needed getaway. See you all there!

Social distancing is now 1m plus, not 1m. You also have to determine if the rally organisers insurance covers for larger than a 30 person "gathering" (y)
The Stratford rally is an
Appletree rally, not a Motorhomefun rally.

If you read on down the page Jim linked to you will also see that at 1.7 they are still saying that you can only meet in groups of six unless your are from the same household or support bubble. So even though you can have a gathering of 30 people they are not allowed to meet up in groups of more than 6.
