Hi, I am awaiting a new Adria PVC which should have been here last October but keeps on getting put back on a monthly basis. Now end of June and I don’t believe it will come then if I’m honest. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if it finally arrived in 2023!

Trying to get any information of the true delay situation from the manufacturers, let alone information that you can trust to be correct and up to date, I am finding impossible. Nothing on the news for Europe but some in America Re shifts being closed at factories there from 2 to 1 a day, but that is about Stellantis car plants I believe.

The delays all appear to revolve around Stellantis production in Italy at their Sevel plant but still none the wiser as to specifically why. Saying the Pandemic repeatedly does not do it for me now.

I would just like to get some honest understanding of why the monthly delays continue and I think all Fiat based manufacturers are pretty much the same.

I wanted to start this Thread for comments from anyone who has got confirmed news or information, rather than rumours and speculation, although if my experiences are the same as others no one will be able to confidently add an update, but here goes 👍🏻

Regards in advance if anyone can add anything

I’m pretty sure I read in the Carthago catalogue that it is possible to uprate the front axle to 2.3t.
There are 3 front spring options, standard is 1850, heavy duty 1960, there is also an Al-Ko option so pehapes they give you 2300.
My Hymer is 2300 that has Goldschmitt springs as standard.

We were told today the Malibu 640 LE ordered in October 22- expected this November - has slipped to a January build so probably not ready to collect until early May!

The wait goes on - glad we haven’t sold out current Motorhome!
Back in 2019 our Carthago had a production date of 26 June and we picked it up on 19 August, just under 2 months. I think the Compactline models come out of the same Slovenian factory as Malibu models.

Once we had it confirmed that our van was in build it didn't take anywhere near 4 months before it arrived at the dealer, it might be worth asking why it will take so long. I've just double checked the info we received and we were told that it is generally 2-3 weeks in production and then 2-3 weeks to arrive at the dealer. In the event we received the email saying it was in production on 4 July and it arrived at the dealer on 4 August. Admittedly ours is an Adria but I can't see that Malibu will be that different.
I've just had news today that my Adria, which has had a chassis number for 8 weeks already and was due to dealer a week today, has been delayed yet again by another 6 weeks.... it really is getting quite disheartening!
Annoyingly, he tells me they have already received six PVC's that weren't due until November, (ours is coach built).
Not quite sure what to think anymore.

I really do feel for you, we waited 26 months for ours and other people who ordered later got theirs earlier, there isn't any kind of system which we could see as to who would get theirs next. We were vanless for nearly 3 years because we sold after the 2nd lockdown in 2020 but didn't order the new one until May 2021 and the wait seemed to go on for ever.

With those wheels, brakes and HD front springs - 9 speed auto? - plus added air on the rear, it will be able to go to 2400 on the rear for a GVW of 4250 on the light chassis.
Afraid not.

I'm fairly certain the Al-ko light can only go to 2240 on the rear with air.
Any extra on the front is useless as you can't make use of it.
Correct.

As you've mentioned previously you can uprate the front too but IMV it's pointless as even with all the underfloor storage it would still be difficult to go over the original 1850kg front limit.

Afraid he's right in his case, if you read previous posts his is Fiat chassis not Alko so can go higher.

We thought the day would never arrive, but after ordering in November 2021 we finally collected our Malibu 640 LE RB GT a couple of weeks ago 😁 this is our first van after hiring first, we’ve just got home after our first trip to I.O.W We are very happy with the van.
Hope this gives hope to those still waiting 😊👍🏻

Well done, that is brilliant news 👍 We ordered our Rapido at the NEC Feb 2022 and like most, after delays, have found it is ready waiting for collection from the factory in France - when we will be able to collect from the dealer though ……

Today we have finally had confirmation that our Adria Twin is now on route to the dealers having placed our order April 2021. 31 months wait, by the time we’ll pick it up!

I’ll certainly be glad to put this stage of my life behind me. I’ve been told the dealer has one more person on their books with a delay as bad as ours was, but hopefully there’s not many more out there at this point.

What a horrible waiting time, been there but only half the wait. And was bad enough.
On the other hand, great news It's almost there. It's a lovely van :giggle:

Amazon have recently ordered 40,000 Fiat Duacto vans for their operations world wide with options on another 60,000 that will affect Stellantis production for sure

Wow! I feel your pain. I thought our wait from November 2021 was bad enough! Fingers crossed you’ll be enjoying soon 👍🏻😊

We ordered a new Malibu Van a few weeks ago with a delivery date of June 2024. To get this date we had to accept one that had already been ordered and reserved by the dealer, which means we get no choice about the already specified Fiat. However the Malibu specification was open to alterations to meet our requirements, they even accepted a change of model. We are getting almost exactly what we want except we probably wouldn’t have chosen a black van but a few extra decals will break that up nicely.

Having had the phone call on Monday delivery going back to November we've had enough, too many push back dates and zero confidence in any proposed dates.
Price was supposed to be locked in but only if it ever gets to us and with another price rise looming I now feel there kicking the can down the road and we need to get on with living our dreams. We have now purchased the exact same model albeit two years old from Pullingers and will be on our travels in 2 weeks.
Its been 5 months since we got the van from Pullingers and so relieved we went down that route. I tried to get my deposit back from a well know dealer that we ordered the new van from in Feb 22 and as they would not let me have it back I've kept it on order, no sign as yet of a delivery date. Its 14 months late from the original delivery date as of today but it was price protected back in Feb 21 and has risen by a considerable margin since. So when it does arrive i will look at the options to dispose of it as if someone wants that model it will be a bargain. The terms and conditions are basically opened ended in favour of the supplying company which to my detriment didn't study until the delivery dates got put back so many times. Lesson learned but will get there in the end.

Westfalia on Ducato chassis ordered October 22 at the NEC with an estimated delivery of last quarter 23. It was a dealer pre-order but still early enough to have all my preferred options. Van was built in June, arrived in Germany a month later with a scheduled build of early November which now got pushed back to December. Actually quite happy about the delay as I’m now looking to get it in March on a 24 plate. Just hoping it doesn’t get delayed again!

At the end of the day, very few if any will negotiate on the standard T's and C's, especially when in a sellers market.

Edit.
Should probably say this might be off topic as it's not about Fiats.
We ordered 4 weeks ago at the NEC show and are hoping to collect it early March.
We did go with a pre-reg Peugeot van to speed things up a bit, which gave us a choice between a couple of colours.

But that mean you will initially have to pay for another Motorhome to start with, then have to sell it immediately when it arrives?

We got our chassis number for our Adria Twin 640 SLB a couple of weeks ago. Going by the experiences on the Adria Twin Facebook group delivery after chassis number received seems to be between 4-8 weeks. The dealer now has a delivery date of January 1st. That should be interesting as they won't be open!

If you have a chassis number, you're almost there :giggle:
At least in my experience.
