think there is an Lloyds chemist in Sainsburys in Portsmouth that do the test don’t know if open when you need it though !!!!!!! I am going through a company called Medicspot and they send you a kit to do it yourself when you want to do it and you upload a pic of the test result and they then email you the certificate within about 20 mins apparently!!!!! I am going to do mine on the 1.1.22 as traveling on the 2.1.22 and cannot find anything open on 1.1.22 either !!!!!!! Cost is £29 and extra test kit is £15 !!!!!Still booked Portsmouth to Cherbourg at 11pm Boxing Day but struggling to find anyone open either 25 or 26 December who can do a LFT test and certificate.
ask the ferry company if they know of anywhere as they must have the same problems for many others sailing?Still booked Portsmouth to Cherbourg at 11pm Boxing Day but struggling to find anyone open either 25 or 26 December who can do a LFT test and certificate.
Thanks for the suggestion but it’s a 240 mile trip to Portsmouth so ideally we would like the test and certificate before we set off just in case.ask the ferry company if they know of anywhere as they must have the same problems for many others sailing?
Your going again then Howard?See you on the boat Andy and it’s your round
Brittany Ferries have partnered with RANDOX and offer a discount to passengers. Thanks for the suggestion but it’s a 240 mile trip to Portsmouth so ideally we would like the test and certificate before we set off just in case.
Be prepared for busy/full sites in coastal Spain. We're hoping to go early Jan for 6 weeks, fingers crossed. We have nothing booked so will just meander.
Thanks for the link but can’t see how that would work to keep within the 48 hours and also it’s an unsupervised home test unless I’ve read it wrong.Brittany Ferries have partnered with RANDOX and offer a discount to passengers.

I think we need to buy in advance, do the UK tests at home and then take the "return to UK" tests with you. Take these 48 hours before getting to the channel port using their online process to create a certificate to show to the port authority along with the UK Passenger Locator Form which is also online. When back at home do the 2 day test and get the result online again. Simples - not! I'm counting on there being no return to UK tests by 5 March when we arrive back at Caen but might hedge my bets by buying them for later use anyway. Thanks for the link but can’t see how that would work to keep within the 48 hours and also it’s an unsupervised home test unless I’ve read it wrong.
Managed two trips this year,,now out of days.Ferry booked for late march,,BUSBY.We’re considering driving over to Spain through France in mid January to do our allotted 12 weeks in Portugal and Spain.
-Anyone else planning on doing this?
Any thoughts?
Curious to know when you sent out your application for a new licence....Due to sail from Portsmouth tomorrow but DVLA have let me down. Still waiting for my new driving licence so stuck in the UK until they decide to work.
We're in the same boat (excuse the pun)!. Should have crossed through the tunnel last week. Still waiting for my C1 licence since early September. Fortunately, we got a flexible ticket, so can change the booking as many times as we want. My wife checks on the DVLA website. Last Friday, it was showing as my licence being current as of 4 December. Still waiting for it to arrive in the post. Peeping out for postman every day!Due to sail from Portsmouth tomorrow but DVLA have let me down. Still waiting for my new driving licence so stuck in the UK until they decide to work.

Why not do a self test before setting out for Portsmouth then If your negative you can go ahead and do the LFT .Thanks for the suggestion but it’s a 240 mile trip to Portsmouth so ideally we would like the test and certificate before we set off just in case.
