If we are going for tenuous links , I’ll forego my Euro symbol for a UK sticker in honour of our 456 UK service personnel who died there. After the abject failure and betrayal of Afghanistan staff are you really wanting a UK/GB recognition.
NI voted to remain in the EU but then were given the NI Protocol which in effect separates them from the rest of the so-called union, and it was something Westminster was happy to negotiate in order 'to get Brexit done'. Don't think that is the best example of inclusivity. Changing the car sticker might not be enough to make up for this, just a thought. Its not "Nationalistic Nonsense.... especially to citizens of N Ireland....and this is all designed for them to feel inclusive of the United Kingdom instead of us being referred to as "Great Britain & Northern Ireland".... and its something that would be useful for some in Brussels as its obvious many still don't realise N Ireland is actually part of the UK..
LookI have not and do not expect I will because:
1) I've already added a GB sticker with a Union flag to cover the Euro symbol, as I was urged to do, and I'm beyond changing it again
2) most Europeans are familiar with GB plates and know what they mean
3) whilst UK equates to Ukraine, in my world it would anyway.
Just my two cents worth.
I now hear we are planning to take in up to 20,000.....how is that a betrayal ?After the abject failure and betrayal of Afghanistan staff are you really wanting a UK/GB recognition.
Thank goodness for some common sense, the government web site states:Take a look at the government website.
You probably don’t need to bother paying for it if you’ve already got a GB sticker
Displaying number plates
How to display number or licence plates, get plates made up, replace lost, damaged or stolen plates, and the national letters, flags and symbols you can display.www.gov.uk
Why bother the Government website says you can still use your GB one save your moneyHi there. We dropped into the accessories shop in a well known Motorhome dealer in Newark. They have loads of GB stickers and no UK stickers.
they also have a very disappointing stock to look at but it is always a good place to stop for lunch.
Maybe they shift so much stock in their accessories shop they will have the UK ones in soon….or maybe word has not got to Newark yet!

It’s not actually been confirmed by the DfT that the U.K. stickers will become law, AFAIK!Because we've got a pvc, we use a magnetic GB sticker, so now looking for a UK one. Not found yet, although a few companies will make bespoke any design/letters for a price.
Even the AA don't appear to have the new UK signs for sale yet.
The UK Government has already sought agreement from the UN, and on the 30 June this year the UN made a formal statement announcing UK designation required from 28 September 2021. Details below:It’s not actually been confirmed by the DfT that the U.K. stickers will become law, AFAIK!
I appreciate they have started the process but there is still no formal announcement as far as I can see. The .gov advice still says you need a GB sticker with no mention of the U.K. version! The UK Government has already sought agreement from the UN, and on the 30 June this year the UN made a formal statement announcing UK designation required from 28 September 2021. Driving abroad
Check if you need an international driving permit (IDP) to drive abroad on holiday and how to exchange your licence if you move abroad - including driving in the EU after Brexit.www.gov.uk
You’d think they’d be able to update a web-page from home!Yes, it must be because all the civil servants are still working from home...
Indeed, you would imagine they should - but presumably the tom-tom drums have failed and they don't yet know about the change. You’d think they’d be able to update a web-page from home!
No arguing with that...It sounds as though you are unable to accept the UN jurisdiction statement then, effective 28 September 2021?
Only yesterday I saw a new update on .gov relating to the movement of goods in the EU. When it mentioned the National identifying logos, the U.K. was never mentioned, even once. The DfT, DVLA and DVSA still say that GB is the required National identifier for the home countries!Well, Confused.com here now. Mrs B got her new car last week so, today, we went to get the private plate made up to put on. I asked if we could please have UK on the plate in place of GB in anticipation of the rile change coming in September. They had no idea about it and said we could only have GB or no identifier. We went for o identifier.
