These are enormous! probably been answered before, but I'm so reluctant to stick these on my lovely new van.
Any suggestions how to attach these in a way that they can be easily removed once back in the UK please?

I've looked at those, but they seem very expensive for what they are. Do the suckers hold firm at motorway speeds or do you just apply them in "rural" areas?
“Rural areas” have got nothing to do with it - I think there was discussion at the drafting stage of their only being required in urban areas, but afaik this never made it into the final law. It’s been discussed on here several times, but no one has ever shown that it made into the final law.

We’ve now downsized & don’t need them, but I did notice in France recently that a lot more French mhs have the stickers on than last year.

put them in cab windows at the rear behind blinds so not in way of mirrors when near a town, lost magnetic ones previously which when you think about is quite dangerous at 60mph.....

I just stuck them on, in the correct location and when I got home they peeled off easily leaving no residue.
I think it a little irresponsible to encourage people who may not be familiar with the regulations of a foreign country, to break those regulations.
Please consider the insurance implications if the worst should happen, i have no time for people who think it wont happen to them!

If you are not over 3.5T you don't need them.

Ours is only 6.8m but is over 3.5 tons hence the sticker requirement. The law only came in 2021 so I believe it still applies. €135 fine if we get it wrong .... DOH 😣
Agreed. This one was not anything like 3.5t though. Maybe it was a small van with big aspirations.

I have never bothered

Typical French Bullshit.

Imagine if every Continental Country insisted on it in their language ?. There would be nowhere to stick the !@%*&£^ things.

And I bet most of us cannot even pronounce it (on-glue-morr). Let alone 90% of Europeans cannot understand it, let alone see it, despite the size.

We use the magnetic ones on the front and cheap stick on one on the rear. Once back in the UK we take off the rear one and use this to remove any glue remnants. You would literally not know the sticker had been there.

I got them for our trip to France but held off putting them on. Spent 10 days in France and nobody batted an eye lid..

It you cut the backing paper on the stick on one's so that a big piece is left in the centre and just stick the edges down they peel off much easier

It's a weird law isn't it, so if you have 3.5t sprinter not needed, but the same size van in 5t and they are required even though its supposed to be about blind spots on the same size van?? Other forums say that it's about making it easier to spot and fine you in a restricted weight town for example, hmmm, I know what I'd do anyway.

They are big so dumb cyclists can see them. Also the colour helps.
Not to apply them for aesthetic reasons or that "nobody else does" ( which not true, the minority do not), the "Police don't bother" are all complete and utter nonsense and are not excuses for not complying with the law whether you agree or think its daft.
You could travel with no insurance or the correct driving license because the Police do not check. Have and accident and find out.
Keeping them in the glove compartment is not a solution either.

Hi folks,
We use the suction cup method. It works fine. I have six per sticker (50mm suction cups with mounting bolt) , so if one becomes unstuck there is still enough to hold it in place. Take care not to stick them over the decal joint or they won't stay stuck.
Or......... stick the Angles Mort sticker to a stout bit of timber. Drill a hole through the other end. Thread a rope through the hole, and form a loop. Hand it from your wing mirror, and if a cyclist or whoever gets too close, open the window, grab the wood and smash the Angles Mort sign over their head - it will give them a blind spot they won't forget.

After all, if they can't see the big white truck in their way, how are they going to see a yellow sticker!

They are ridiculous and my set, along with others, live in the glove box.
My previous Carthago was on a heavy chassis but the same model was available at 3500kg, it wouldn't be fit for purpose at that weight but it wouldn't require the stickers. Absolutely bonkers!

We got magnetic ones at one of the warners shows, slapped them on in the ferry queue and took them off once we’d passed through France. Not sure if your Boxer is a PVC but if it is, the magnetic ones are a great solution
I have a set of magnetic ones. Am prepared to send them off for cost of postage. Richard Weston

My pvc is 3500kg’s, so I don’t need them. But I see lots of ducato type pvc’s with them on. I suspect some folks like adorning their vans with them, so simple assume they have to have them as they see others with them.

I bought magnetic for the cab and bought transparent window cover for the back that isn’t sticky, cut slightly bigger than the angles mort sticker and put the sticker on that. You can then remove when out of France and not leave a mark😃

With respect if a pedestrian came that close they would have a headache from the wing mirrors the protrusion is less than 25 mm so if not the wing mirror the bumper would take the leg out before they hit the signs.

It would fail an MOT. If a pedestrian did get to close it could inflict damage and the owner would be liable, nice payout coming to the injured party.
No idea what all the fuss is about tbh just spent 9 weeks in France and they're on the majority of larger Mh.

We followed a huge lorry carrying beet earlier. He sat at lights turning left. Large red flashing light with bike symbol flashing. A cyclist still went up mine and then his nearside.

So many seem to think the Darwin Award is a prize for cycling.

When we were in the States a few years back, I saw a couple of lorries and several buses had barriers that came out when stopped and indicating so they couldn't go up the inside.
