“Rural areas” have got nothing to do with it - I think there was discussion at the drafting stage of their only being required in urban areas, but afaik this never made it into the final law. It’s been discussed on here several times, but no one has ever shown that it made into the final law.I've looked at those, but they seem very expensive for what they are. Do the suckers hold firm at motorway speeds or do you just apply them in "rural" areas?
If you are not over 3.5T you don't need them.I just stuck them on, in the correct location and when I got home they peeled off easily leaving no residue.
I think it a little irresponsible to encourage people who may not be familiar with the regulations of a foreign country, to break those regulations.
Please consider the insurance implications if the worst should happen, i have no time for people who think it wont happen to them!
Agreed. This one was not anything like 3.5t though. Maybe it was a small van with big aspirations.Ours is only 6.8m but is over 3.5 tons hence the sticker requirement. The law only came in 2021 so I believe it still applies. €135 fine if we get it wrong .... DOH
Regardless of size? Makes it the craziest pointless bit of french law ever......and it's up against some pretty stiff competition. If you are not over 3.5T you don't need them.
We use the magnetic ones on the front and cheap stick on one on the rear. Once back in the UK we take off the rear one and use this to remove any glue remnants. You would literally not know the sticker had been there. These are enormous! probably been answered before, but I'm so reluctant to stick these on my lovely new van.
Any suggestions how to attach these in a way that they can be easily removed once back in the UK please?
I got them for our trip to France but held off putting them on. Spent 10 days in France and nobody batted an eye lid..These are enormous! probably been answered before, but I'm so reluctant to stick these on my lovely new van.

its also a BIG advertisement to the cops when you are going through the tolls class IIWe use the magnetic ones on the front and cheap stick on one on the rear. I had a big problem removing the adhesive left on the bodywork of my van. It events came off with some fly and bug remover . Magnet next timeThese are enormous! probably been answered before, but I'm so reluctant to stick these on my lovely new van.

How can they be a danger to pedestrians ??Aren't they a danger to any pedestrians that get in your way?
I have a set of magnetic ones. Am prepared to send them off for cost of postage. Richard WestonWe got magnetic ones at one of the warners shows, slapped them on in the ferry queue and took them off once we’d passed through France. Not sure if your Boxer is a PVC but if it is, the magnetic ones are a great solution
Same for me ,I also think they give a little bit more warning to drivers following in poor visibility so leave them on.
I bought magnetic for the cab and bought transparent window cover for the back that isn’t sticky, cut slightly bigger than the angles mort sticker and put the sticker on that. You can then remove when out of France and not leave a markThese are enormous! probably been answered before, but I'm so reluctant to stick these on my lovely new van.

They are a protrusion, aren't they? (The ones on suckers, not the adhesively attached.)How can they be a danger to pedestrians ??
It would fail an MOT. If a pedestrian did get to close it could inflict damage and the owner would be liable, nice payout coming to the injured party. With respect if a pedestrian came that close they would have a headache from the wing mirrors the protrusion is less than 25 mm so if not the wing mirror the bumper would take the leg out before they hit the signs.
Please tell us what gov. Statement you have seen ?It is no longer a legal requirement apparently, according to things I have read.
As stated earlier in this thread, I have no Gov. Statement. It's from an article on the net, which I also published earlier. Please tell us what gov. Statement you have seen ?
