Yes very hot in Murcia by the Mar Menor. Our friends said it was unbearable really. They’re on Sundays ferry here so will get some respite, and water .
Going to hit 30°c today on this part of the Asturian coastline....just for one day I might add...,,Another great place by the looks of it! My list of places to go only seems to get longer and longer. It seems much more pleasant than 46 degrees. Cheers, Jane
We are surviving in 30+ Murcia (we too should be in Galicia) and now the pool pump has packed up so it's looking more like a pond than a pool atm and unuseable.
Sunshine powered aircon somedays in the lounge, more for the dogs benefit than mine ..
We definitely came too far north Martin, still we leave the UK Wednesday night and start heading south westerly. Bob.Oh dear, what a shame you're having to stay in the heat. Will you get the chance to come north anytime?

"nature reserve of Baralo" .... err, did you mean Barayo, p'raps ? (And, end of month hopefully...)We had to leave our lovely spot at the lighthouse because we HAD to go to empty the loo. We drove to the nearby town of Luarca, with an official, well signed, motorhome parking area and service point. The parking was rammed, so once we'd done the necessary, we left to go to a parking area in a nearby nature reserve of Baralo. We we're the only motorhome there, with three or four camper vans, and we had a quiet night.
Wanting shade today because we are getting about 30° we drove to Navia. It has a serviced motorhome area at the back of Eroski, and again it was very full. We only wanted to do some shopping though because just 1.4 km further, at a beach, I'd found some parking under Eucalypts. That's where we are now. Surrounded by cars and the later arriving motorhomes can't get in the shade.
We've had a walk and we're now watching the world go by before we have a cold lunch. This is another lovely spot in Asturias.

Haven't I read elsewhere on here that you get very sticky sap from eucalyptus? We had to leave our lovely spot at the lighthouse because we HAD to go to empty the loo. Very inflammable sap, certainly .... most Portuguese forest fires are eucalyptus fuelled; they produce a lot of combustable litter, leaves, bark, etc.Haven't I read elsewhere on here that you get very sticky sap from eucalyptus?
I think, but could be wrong, it's used by floristsYes I have always thought that about eucalyptus trees, so much dry bark!
Do like the smell!
We have noticed that some plantations are cut down when only small? Any ideas why?
The 'juvenile' foliage is indeed used for florestry, but more likely is that it's a gov't requirement. I've seen land for sale in Portugal (on the internet) with notes in the description saying that it needs to be cleared of the current planting, i.e. eucalyptus. The growth I've seen that needs clearing is bigger than the stuff the florists want.Yes I have always thought that about eucalyptus trees, so much dry bark!

Loving all your photos.
As no-one has mentioned it, I thought you might like to know it's blowing a hoolie, back here in Blighty, and has been most of the day!
Cannot believe it starts at 11 pm!

We're now 6km away parked next to a cemetery.
I bet it’s dead quiet there….
practicing the guitar (Martin) and Balmy Drum (me)
Now we need to see a duet, I'm afraid ... it's something for you to do on a rainy day.
Might I suggest Samba Pa-Ti, p'raps .. ?
(It's just jealousy; I have no musical aptitude whatsoever - not even for hitting things)
