Dresden - it's amazing to see how the old city has been rebuilt. I saw it before the re-build and afterwards. Fantastic.

Very quiet lots of walks but we go birding so might not be your bag? Can’t comment on eating out as we don’t do that much but there are a couple of pubs,
Be warned the facilities are not great although useable the marina is on the Great Ouse.
We like it but we have friends who live there and visit them regularly.
Close to St Ives which is lovely.
