A photo of the day thread

The wife's in Fuertaventura with her sister at the moment, she says she can't believe the number of motorhome's she's seeing there, a definite increase in the last couple of years. I think you have to go on a "freight" ferry ?

No. It's a nice ferry from Cadiz. Done it many times.

Semana Santa processions starting today (Palm Sunday) in Badajoz. And no, we weren’t taking part in the Monty Python ‘Spanish Inquisition’ sketch! A great spectacle to witness and a fantastic city with free moho parking and easy walking and cycling access to the old town across the pedestrianised Palmas Bridge. 100% recommend visiting.

(IPhone tip, I don’t know if this is known but for shots like this you can hold your phone upside down ( lens at the bottom) and take the shot, the iPhone knows this and automatically turn photo around)

The Costa Verde was getting a bit too ‘Verde’ for us, so rather than sit looking at big waves for a couple of days we headed inland for a bit of culture. Last night was on the free parking by the bullring in Astorga and today we had a mooch around and found this Disneyesque Palacio Episcopal by none other than Gaudi.

It’s one of only three buildings designed by him outside of Barcelona.

The town hall has an interesting clock with a bell struck every quarter hour by two automaton figures in local Maragato dress.

Weather nothing special to go to far, decided on a run out down to Felixstowe, where by chance container ship the Ever Aria was just leaving port, followed by one of the Tug boats performing ceremonial water salute, very impressive.

I'm only a couple of hours away in Zaragoza and it's been 18°c today. Can't believe the extreme changes in weather in Spain in such short distances. 🤔
