We are impressed so far. We had an older Laika for a short while and were looking for something on a par quality wise. There are not many second generation smaller Esterels around and fell lucky with this one.

Bridge Inn I'm afraid was poor. Change of ownership, felt trying to rush you through, prices high and quantity low. Very disappointed, even locals are complaining of new owners.

When we left in the dark i went down a particulary steep bit that leveled out sharpish, took the front corner off the bumper. Hey ho shit happens. Pasengers in the back seat were pooing themselfs as they had never been in the desert before. (he a retired Pilot for Gulf Air, flew the A300s for 17 years mostly out of Bahrain, DiLparents)
Great simple BBQ with lovely people, good chat, good laugh, and good food and drink (well 3 of em had good drink)

Our Interislander ferry at Picton ready to take us to Wellington for the start of our five and a half weeks touring the North Island.

Son bought one of these last month, delivery end of this month.
Went down to showroom to check it out. Surprised just how well made it appeard to be.
Runs on real go juice. Of course a Chinese Defender rip off. Most will say ugly a F---@ (i like ugly)
Anyway circa £29,000. he's keeping the Pajero but selling his Mazda CX5
His is white with same interior.

Good price if it last a few years, over here time all the taxes went on it would be £100k
