Not something I would ever plug into……..too much possibility of the USB port being ‘hacked’ in some way….. o_O o_O

At last I've been able to capture an image of Jupiter that actually looks vaguely like Jupiter. The session was strewn with self imposed errors culminating in my laptop running out of power. Still, onwards and upwards. Also managed to get two moons almost in focus!

I presume that the USB port is power only, not data. Anyway, I rested my Pixel phone on the charging pad for a quick wireless charge. That should be safe enough. 👍

Charging pad ok, but the USB port need only be for charging to put your device ‘at-risk’ apparently….. :(

One for DBK , saw these antennas, 16 in a row on the cliff path near
Pointe de Brezellec
Cléden-Cap-Sizun, France

I wonder if there HAM radio or something else , they look a bit amateurish how they’re fixed.

Very odd. Looking on the map it is near Brest which has a big naval base so it might be part of some sort of trial/experiment. It can't be normal radio as that only normally uses a single antenna. This seems to be some sort of array, possibly for finding direction and range. Thanks for posting.

Spent most of the day up on cliff car park Felixstowe, just picked up fish & chips for tea down at the fort. The big wheel is coming down at end of the month according to the staff in the chippy.

And I noticed another four set out in a square near parking spot, just the fixing don’t look very professional

Which is why I think it's some sort of trial. As you say, it isn't a permanent installation.

One of the most boring MH photos of this thread but I don't care :p

I've hired a MH for a few days to see how I get on with this malarky. The pic was just after I collected it at the weekend so I'm a couple of days in and.... the jury is still out. Definitely given me a few new things to think about which is good I guess.

This one is only a few months old but during the handover the owner pointed out a crack in the hab door window. This has now turned into a much larger crack and another crack has appeared and I'm not sure how. Saying that, the noise, rattles, vibrations when driving around (slowly!) makes me wonder how these vans don't just shake themselves to bits. I've found myself wincing at times, I guess you learn to ignore it or buy a caravan and drive in blissful ignorance.

You cannot get an opinion of vans just by driving one, they do crash a bit on bad roads but mostly they are not to bad, obviously depends on the model and how it’s loaded.
Once you have your own you will soon learn how to stop the rattles and squeaks😁😁

I've asked in ham radio circles and the answer is it is part of a system studying the ocean surface. There will be a radar transmitter somewhere and these 16 antenna are the receivers. It is part of what I think is called the Argo project. The signals received are reflected off floating buoys out in the Atlantic. Or so I think, the references I've been sent are heavy reading!

We were parked in that layby in with our toad a few weeks back while we were staying over the water at Low Farm ... lovely area.
yes it is .. we live just up the road in Alderton..

if you get back to this area, give us a shout , would be nice to meet up..

Yonder. Don't worry about the photo, rest assured your doing the right thing, a few quid spent hiring could save you a small fortune if you make a wrong decision

I do hope you get to like motorhoming. It does need a different mind set. But please don’t park on the pavement.

Took these photos whilst eating our fish & chips at the Fort viewing point. For the life of me I cant understand why Suffolk Coastal Council won't allow overnight parking. I'm sure the little café would appreciate the extra trade. The annoying thing is, there is row along the back that could accommodate 8mtr vans and still be more than 1mtr away from the perimeter fence of the docks, and wouldn't block the view from cars.
