Wow, that canal looks steep! Can you waterski.
Nice one, when we were travelling in NZ we went to Rotorua and stayed on a campsite called Cozy Cottage. The locals would come down to the lake dig a small pit and cook mussels in the boiling water. Loved it there and the area. Does pong a bit though.View attachment 615973View attachment 615974View attachment 615975View attachment 615976View attachment 615977
Driving into the city of Rotorua there’s evidence of thermal activity all around. Steam and bubbling mud coming out of all sorts of orifaces. Sadly, the Victorian Spa Baths have been closed for several years and are awaiting earthquake strengthening. The blue bird is a Pukeko which ignores the signs warning that the water temperature can reach 100 degrees Celsius.
Lovely area, we stayed in CAP (charges apply ) on a farm overlooking the Harbour. Our wild camping spot at Port Albert, one hour north of Auckland. It’s a tiny settlement with no light pollution so perfect for stargazing. A few photos of Hibiscus flowers taken while travelling on the appropriately named, Hibiscus Coast, and a Monarch
Pet hate. People dragging chairs on tiles making "that" noise.
My solution, chair leg socks.
